I find the fact that Oweh can't shoot actually more impressive. It's kinda like MKG.

In this era, when everybody and his mother is out there jacking up threes, Oweh has to be guarded under the assumption that he can't shoot...and he STILL drives the ball like a maniac at the goal and scores. That's crazy impressive.

If he returns, you'd hope for a kind of Deandre Liggins thing with him where he gets more consistent out there. Liggins came in as one of those "athletes" who you cringed every time he shot. He went out as a guy hitting one of the biggest threes in recent UK history.

I remember being BIG on Mahaney last spring. More because of the program he'd come out of.

The timing, though...I mean it's hard not to think that there could be something here.

One thing about a player like that is that now that he's assembled this frontcourt, you can have a more freewheeling, off-the-hip guard.

Last year's team would've been punished with that because they couldn't chase offensive rebounds. Which is why Brea was at times so discerning with his shot selection.

Next year is going to have players who can run stuff down off long misses, so a player like Eaglestaff is interesting to think about in that way. Because if he came here there'd absolutely be games where he shot 8 or 10 threes.

I don't think anybody is throwing them under the bus in this thread. Rather, I think it's obvious to anyone who has any concept of what Pope is trying to do that the freshmen class from last year isn't going to get us to the promised land.

As a person who has said publicly on this very forum that he's only satisfied when we win national championships, you of all people should know this.

Actually, before I read this post of yours.

Obviously I like the 3 freshman but to expect them to WIN it all this upcoming season is a tall task, unrealistic. They can all be contributors but if we are depending on these 3 to carry the load, that ain't happening.

Still have that glaring hole where we need the starting knockdown at the two. Pope will land someone. I'm just ready for it to be done and Oweh to get his feedback and make his announcement that he's returning to UK in an effort to win a national title.

He was explaining that we didn't need Wilkerson because Oweh is already a 2. I busted out laughing for obvious reasons.

In a 3 guard offense to me he was the attacking guard.

In the traditional format, yes I would say he was the 3 as well.
