I get it. I think they can contribute but to ask them to win a title right now I don't know about all that.

On paper, we have a great roster and some great talent. I am in the majority here, I don't want to waste this season because we are short a few pieces.

If Oweh returns, I do think we can win it all like right now....

My pops was a old school die hard Dem...

Prior to his passing in May of 19, we had our share of disagreements to say the least

I told my self I am not arguing with my Dad over all that crap, It meant nothing at the end of the day.

Honestly, I lived my entire life no expecting someone from the left right up down or anything else in between to come save me, not going to start now lol lol...

We all just squirrels trying to get a nut and see another day

You would expect West Virginia decommit Braydon Hawthorne to commit today on his visit, I guess.

Would likely be a very end of the bench player but not sure he'd be anything more than that right away. Has GREAT size.

Laying all jokes aside, If Oweh doesn't return to me it will be a JODIE MEEKS "what if "situation with the Wall and Cousins team from here on to eternity...

Smart man, that Columbia Summer time heat ain't no joke, there's a reason why Fort Jackson was built in that region.

People I work under are from Columbia, I was just down there in February. We usually gather and have dinner at a place called Saluda's, technically right on SC's campus area.

At the end of the day it's a football school, them people really don't care about basketball for real...

In the traditional format, yes I would say he was the 3 as well.

No more beef, throwing up the white flag lol
What a spin. In a three guard offense he's the attacking guard who doesn't shoot it much from range. AKA, the forward.

This is the stuff a program needs. If he commits, we've got a heck of a core who will really contribute in 2-3 years with him, Noah, and Chandler. Every really good college team has a group of experienced players like that.

Really that point about having "guard skill" is technically correct. (The skill he lacks, ironically, being shooting.)

The only distinction that seems to matter in the zoom is basically the side of the court and the action that happens on that side. But generally "Pope runs a 3-guard offense"...yeah, maybe? I mean you have to stretch the basic definitions of positions to get there, but maybe.

Kind of goes back to the thing somebody pointed about Vandy and how he listed everybody as a point guard. You have to have guard skill in today's game, so in that way the traditional positions are pretty diluted.

But the larger point being made that the team could just throw Oweh into the shooting guard spot and we'd be fine is a bigger problem. Because of his shooting ability, you couldn't do that. Which, again, is why he's after shooters in the portal.

Could Oweh play the 2? Sure. But that wouldn't be a full-time, ideal situation here. More than position and 2/3 or whatever, the conversation really being had is what types of players these guys are, what Pope needs, and what could round Kentucky out into a contender.

One thing is clear, we will need both Dioubate and Williams knocking down threes this year. Hopefully both of these guys 3 pt % holds up or improves..

Dioubate hasn't really shown he can shoot. Has hit 13 threes in two years.

The fact that he came out of Alabama, known for just firing threes relentlessly at every position, would suggest they put him in a role and he excelled at that role.

That's not to say he won't be taking threes, but I'd expect him to be more like a traditional "power forward" from the old school. Rebound, guard several positions, toughness, etc.

Williams, different story. His shooting ability is the most intriguing part of his game.

This been a bad week so far.

                        Wilkerson out, Oweh testing,

Guess it can't always be good news...

Yeah I was wondering about that. 46% 3PT% looks good on paper but wasn't sure how many he actually took last year.

Obviously, you watch more college ball than I do, besides Kentucky, I have always watched more pro ball over the years.

I say this because over the years players I would have considered to be SF's even PF's now play the 2 spot at the pro level, guys who are 6'8 play the guard shooting role these days.

I guess if all else fails, Williams may have to be that guy..

This post is ludicrous! Where are those fans? Certainly not on this forum. First of all, I met and talked with Perry and he is not 6'1". Maybe 5'11". He is not SEC fast or quick, but he can shoot. Noah is strong and can shoot. And we have no idea how far along the new freshmen are.
