Kentucky walk-on Grant Darbyshire hits the portal, maybe as a response to the upcoming House settlement.

Needle mover but uncertain if Pierre or Wilkerson would've been BIGGER needle-movers. Remains to be seen, nor does it matter because we got who we got.
Anytime you can get a player who played a significant role on a title team, you have to take him.
I maintain that Kentucky still needs somebody who can shoot the ball consistently from three. If you've got Lowe, Aberdeen, and Oweh out there...that's a very similar trio of players.Comment

Goodman says nobody will touch UK’s NIL payroll, not even BYU.
Begs the question: where did it all come from? The Crafts?
It wasn’t long ago that it was commonly believed Kentucky couldn’t keep up with other big programs. It appears that isn’t the case.Comment

I would hope that's the case. I don't think anybody is working behind the scenes to approve players Pope doesn't want.
Judging by how big this team is going to be and how he's made a point to target athleticism, there definitely seems to be a cohesive plan in place for the way Pope wants the team to look next season.John 3:3

Athletic, experienced guard thar averaged 16 ppg when forced into a starting role for a 4 game span. Could well hurt Florida's plans as much as it helps Kentucky.
As far as the money amount being talked about being thrown around ya got me...I wouldn't know unless I saw the tax forms.
Whatever the truth about the dollar amount actually is Kentucky is a program willing to play.Comment

It's very clear Pope wanted a more athletic roster this upcoming year, he's done a great job so far.
Still won't be settled until we know one way or another if Oweh is coming back..Comment

I like the team as assembled. Looks big, strong, and athletic. Pope addressed the deficiencies from last year (rebounding and defense) and I think they’ll be a mainstay in the top 10 with a chance to contend come March. Let’s go!👍 1Comment

I’m pretty confident Oweh will be back. This is all just a part of the process of getting a quality evaluation so that he understands where he is and what he needs to do to improve his draft stock next year.

So:
Lowe/Johnson
Aberdeen/Chandler/Johnson
Oweh/Williams/Chandler
Dioubate/AJ/Noah
Garrison/JQ/Moreno
A kid like Chandler as our 10th guy? We will likely have the deepest team in the country this year.Comment

From following recruiting for years, one of the recurring themes is how loose-lipped families are.
There would still definitely be incentive from those camps to fudge those numbers.Comment

Looks like we are top five in the country of money spent on the roster. That's expected, but I'm sure comes as a shock to a number of our fans.Comment
