Kentucky is apparently still doing a little work in the portal. It has reached out to North Carolina A&T guard Ryan Forrest.

Averaged 19 a game last year but does not look like a shooter at all. In fact a very poor shooter for a guard.

A long list of other programs have checked in on him, including Arkansas.

The days of developing players are far and few in between. Lucky if you can get two years out of a player these days.

Be interesting to see what Noah and Chandler do year 3.

I notice Garrison mentioned Popes 2 year plan for him….and that is likely how coaches will address players through all this: in Two years you will have this slot (perhaps 3). 4 year guys are gonna be dinosaur eggs as far as 4 years at one school.

I think its gonna depend on the kid and if he likes Pope and the program. With the NIL Kentucky may be able to make incentive gains year by year to retain kids. A bonus program of you will....in the age of NIL..nothing is off the table

Kinda low calling a 19 year old trash...... but whatever.
Perry is exploring options...if I read the portal right Perry has the option to come back...doubtfull...but an option.
He'll probably get picked up by a D1 school

More like Pope's trash, Kelsey's treasure...

Nothing against Perry, wasn't directed at him, I don't trash players here in the 20 plus years I have been here, maybe one. At the end of the day like you say, they are still very young men just trying to figure it out and deal with it all.

Who knows what Perry's potential may be down the road but I do know he can shoot the basketball, that will serve him well unless he does a CJ Frederick and totally forget how to shoot the ball.

Still, wish Perry would have stayed on board but not going to lose any sleep over it, he left on his own, that's on him. If any of these kids are not willing to work hard and earn PT, probably best they move on anyways..

I also interpreted it that you were calling Perry trash. Regardless of your intent, that is the way it came across to me.

I believe it was just a saying.

The same man was over there on the last page suggesting fans ran Perry off. I'm guessing he wasn't alleging Perry's trash. Think it was just a turn of phrase.

Usually refers to inanimate objects (clothes, lamps, etc) not humans. Maybe I’m just having a bad morning 😊

Naw, I don't think he's trash at all. He may not be the best defender but if you look back at the last 5 or 6 years of Kentucky basketball, a lot of those players weren't great defenders.

Crazy as things are, until he signs elsewhere, could end up back at Kentucky, you never know.

I don't know if he was ran off but some fans will stand by him thick and through just because he's from Kentucky and others will call it the way the see it, judge him and assume he's not Kentucky material at all, never will be.

Again, i truly believe social media plays a part in all of this. Even when a player isn't up to standards social media will plant those seeds of poison in a players mind and vice versa.

You said it, I say it, if Travis stays comes back and works hard, he will useful down the road. If he leaves now, he will get immediate PT and perhaps fast track his development.

I will say this a million times until it is official one way or another, the status of OWEH is the only thing I am concerned with at this point.

If he returns, we have it all in place, if he doesn't then hopeful in season development is fast tracked and we are good come March..

Coach Pope hanging out in Minnesota last night prior to the Lakers/Minnesota game.

One advantage Pope will always have over Rupp, Hall, Sutton, Pitino, Smith, Gillispie, and Calipari, he played in the league, they didn't...

Whatever the situation with Perry was/ is, he (or him with the advice of family) made it. If he were to go to Louisville, that would be a natural: Mr Basketball, all time leading scorer staying in state. Same deal with any in state school. Since 74 I've seen a Lotta kids leave. Usually for playing time. Sometimes bad fit, other times....well...they just go. There USED to be a demand that UK give EVERY Mr Basketball an automatic free ride. That was and is an awful idea.

Perry could do one thing really good...shoot. BUT towards the end of this season even that seemed to leave him.

And to be honest guys if the kid ever read some of the crap on social media he would have run off a long time ago. He had a great amount of early expectation on him. If I recall, Reed S was supposed to be a bench warmer according to most of our base until he exploded. It was the reverse for Perry.

Once more with feeling, I appreciate him coming to UK and I hope he gets stronger and a bit quicker. I think he has a spot someplace, and it just might not be in D3 ball the way some folks think.

Just didn't work. Good luck man!
