    Both thick-set, stocky guards.

Perry will never be like that, but strength was a major deal for him. He's gotta get to the point where he can at least halfway bully some people and hold his line. What happened last year was guys would just basically ram into him and knock him out of the way. His body type is incredibly slight for a D1 guard with his footspeed.

Clear that Pope wanted a more athletic team and that's what he got., better athlete's that Brea Robinson Perry.

Is his philosophy changing now that he was able to get a year of SEC under his belt?

I know he's still going to shoot threes (THANK GOD) but he wants defenders and players to run down loose balls.

He was a freshman lol, not everyone is built like Cousins or Wall coming out of high school.

Does anyone in there right mind not believe that Travis won't work and get stronger this offseason?

Maybe he won't , maybe he's lazy, maybe he prefers to play golf and doesn't want to be bulky, hurst the golf game, I don't know.

I don't remember Fox, Boston, or many other skinny buck o 5 Cal freshman running through anyone but I suppose it's different when you have potential.

Still, Perry is a 2 guard in my mind but at 6 foot not 6'2, makes it difficult.

I assume Moreno and Johnson didn't get the memo.

Should have went elsewhere for experience and trained hard physically then transferred in to Kentucky.

I feel sorry for these kids already and the season ain't even started.

Right, that was kind of my point. It's why I wish he would've stayed. I think he'll be a pretty good player for somebody once he gets stronger.

But just generally, one reason guys like Sparks and Epps could hang in there a little more has to do I think with their build and strength. Those thick-bodied guards are plentiful in college basketball. Perry always looked tiny to me from the first time I saw him.

However if you're lethal offensively, fearless, and can just get in there and get as strong as your body can possibly contain...then you're gonna play somewhere.

I'm not sure what it is you're trying to argue. You seem to be just saying stuff to hear yourself talk. If you're bored, go touch grass.

Im saying unless these two come in and set the world on fire the KENTUCKY fan base is going to run them off.

That's unfair to the freshman because it's a learning curve but fans are just ruthless and unrealistic.

IT'S THE CALL EFFECT, blame him for all that in my opinion...

I guess he's the two guard because if OWEH comes back, he's the 3 in a 3 guard offense..

Personally, I feel if Travis goes elsewhere and develops, he will be back eventually. If he doesn't he won't...

Some says he built a house not long ago around Lexington. Maybe he sells it, maybe he keeps it, who knows..

                        Btw, I agree.

I am not mad at Perry or Pope.

I think Perry wanted consistent low pressure playing time and believe that Pope is going for the JUGULAR this year, he has the pieces in place to win it all this year and he knows it especially if OWEH is back.

Im with Pope on this. If winning a title this year means feelings get hurt, so be it...

Kentucky fans always online lobbying for Kentucky kids to play doesn't help matters either, just plants poison in these kids mind. Nothing is given, still have to work for it.

Exactly, I'd be willing to bet he could have stayed if he wished to do so.

I look at the numbers and don't think Pope ran him off. I WOULD expect some serious conversation with Perry and Noah about considering a red shirt year. I wasn't there so have no clue.

Kentucky fans on social media are extremely harsh on their own players. Now we can call it honesty, but maybe sometimes the grownups need to remember they arent talking about NBA pros or even coaches. I have no idea if this was part either.
What I DO know is that there have been a litany of guys that weren't 'good enough' to play at Kentucky that left us in the dust. Virginia had 4 that played with a kid named Sampson. Vandy kind of had one every year, and so did Tennessee.

There's a Lotta reasons Kentucky isnt for everybody....even record setting Mr Basketball guys.

I guess first impressions stick. Sparks and Perry are similar builds. IMO, what Perry was lacking was defensive chops. Sparks was always so tenacious on defense...Perry just seemed a half step slow...that could be fixed in the off season
