Will he go or will he stay?

Funny how these rankings have him in the 70's when the combine hasn't even started yet.

NBA still likes physical athletes, Oweh checks the boxes.

    More money at Kentucky?

Probably so but his brother plays in the NFL, I don't think Oweh is hurting for money at the end of the day.

    Brotherly love and competition?

"I played in the NFL and I played in the NBA", can't ever take that away from someone.

As much as we love Kentucky basketball, NBA is bigger and more prestige.

If Oweh gets a shot to become one of the few to play on a NBA team. Like Reed and many others who came through Kentucky, he's gone.

Oweh comes back we can win it all this year .

If not, someone will have to step up and exceed expectations in my opinion...

I think he's gone, hope I am wrong...
At best he would go mid second round. That's no guarantee and he would likely end up with a G league type deal, or whatever that league is called now. He'll make five times that money at UK next season and can play himself into the first round.

The NBA likes physical athletes, yes, but his shooting is what's keeping his stock low. He's also a bit under sized to play the 3 in the NBA unless he shows he can be an Avery Bradley like defender.

His brother makes $2.8 million a year right now. OO can likely make more than that at UK next season. His brother will also be in the NFL one more year, so the whole "we want to be pro athletes at the same time" isn't going to be a factor.

Like Reed? Reed was a top ten pick with guaranteed money. If Otega wants to be that he has to dramatically improve his three point shot and come back next season. This isn't Calipari's Kentucky basketball. We aren't going to see guys leave for a shot at the second round, especially with NIL. The average G league salary is $40,500. The minimum for a two way deal is under $600k. Most people are saying he's making about three million next season at UK.

It's been talked about for months that he's going to test the waters and return, and that's what he's going to do.

I was mostly joking, but everyone has seen it happen.

I hope he finds a good spot/fit at Ole Miss.

I'd say he gets some. Ole Miss was ollllldddd last season. They also didn't sign a true point guard in the portal, but did get Louisville's Koren Johnson. I'd say Perry at least gets a chance to win a back-up spot.

They'll probably start the spectacularly named freshman Patton Pinkins.

To me, if he's not going to get a ton of PT here, I'm not sure why he thinks he would elsewhere in the league. Unless, like you say, they're thin at his particular position.

Lowe was invited to the G-League Elite Camp. Not sure if he'll attend, nor am I sure it means much. We better hope not.

The camp is later this week.

This sort of thing is happening all over America. I assume the thought is that a restart might just change a player's entire trajectory. And you have seen that happen with players. They'll just sort of be okay in one program, then they get in the portal, re-appear somewhere else, and all of a sudden they're a different guy.

Not sure if that's in the cards for Perry or not, but you do see it happen in this era with so many guys moving around all over the place.

There's been some interest from Kentucky in 7 foot Reece Potter from Miami of Ohio. I assume he'd be a player Pope was talking about in that interview last week where they'd try and talk him into redshirting.

Miami of Ohio’s site has him listed at 7’-1” and 215lbs. He’s from Lexington

Huh. Well as long as he doesn’t expect minutes right away then why not? I’m guessing he’ll stay tall.

Red shirting is a concept that will be in a state of flux. Do you redshirt then transfer? Not like Kriisa, but same result.
                          world keeps on changin.

Jones says that it's likely Kentucky will add this guy.

Weird thing about him is that his stats stayed virtually the same from his freshman to sophomore years. You rarely see that with big men.
