Not that coaches abide by that rule, but regardless today is the day players can legally be contacted.

For some reason, I was thinking the same thing, would love to have them both at Kentucky under Pope but that's probably not going to happen. Big Z and Bigger Z are actually both pretty good passers plus they can shoot.

It could be Bowie Turpin Twin Towers 2.0

Can you remind me who he is? I'm not up to date on all of the names.

It's starting to sound like Max Green from Holy Cross is as much of a done deal as we have seen since Billy D bought a horse farm. He wanted to get interest from UK out of high school but never did. He's from Oldham County and it sounds like he's got a great family who are all Cat fans and that he's a great kid.

Is he UK material talent wise?

I was really hoping Big Z would take a look at Pope and stay. Really felt he would have flourished under Pope becasue Cal seemed to sit on Z his freshman year

UK is one of four finalists (UNC, UofL, WVU) for Virginia’s Isaac McKneely.

Significant mutual interest between UK and Dedan Thomas, as well.

Not sure. But, he averaged something like 15 and 6 and I believe was the freshman of the year in the conference. Good enough to be player 9 or 10 maybe, but some feel he's better than that.

I’ve heard a few names, his included.

Probably better than that, but I think the excitement is in his potential as a guy with three years remaining. Nice size and a great stroke.

Got it. With Lewis and Johnson coming in, I'm not sure it's likely we are keeping Oweh, Chandler, Noah, Perry, and Kerr. If so, I can't imagine we would be recruiting a guard.

Kerr’s all but out, and even if he weren’t I’d say we’d need a starting PG from the portal. Without him, we’re talking Perry and Fr. Lewis at PG, which isn’t enough imo.

Not sure how the rest will shake out, but I’m guessing they still think Noah’s a year away from being first off the bench at the two or three. That leaves you with So. Chandler and Fr. Johnson at the two, in which case I’d see the wisdom in getting a portal guy there, too.

If Oweh returns, he’s your obvious starter at the three. Don’t know who plays behind him; Chandler/Nix/Noah, perhaps, though that’d be a little small.

Your most obvious portal needs are at PG and the front court, though. Need a Carr replacement, need another big guy we can trust in rotation with Garrison, and probably need the springy four Will has mentioned throughout the season.

How many guys that actually turns out to be, I haven’t a clue. Probably not as many as I’ve rattled off, but still a lot of needs.

Not going to list him up top because there’s no indication he and UK have talked, but UNC’s Elliot Cadeau will enter the portal.
