I cannot personally put UK at the top of the NIL ladder 🤣. But I really hope what has to be viewed as an excellent first year for Pope will entice the real donors to invest generously. I’ve truly enjoyed this season and hope for another step up next year. Well, unless we win it all this yr. Not many steps up from there.

That was a concern I had, that we had to be “good enough “ to keep the money flowing in. I think that will happen at least well enough to give the staff a chance to show their chops

Holy Cross guard Max Green has entered the portal and drawn interest from Kentucky. Very good shooter with three years of eligibility remaining. Could see him filling the Brea role and then some, if he sticks around and develops.

Assuming Oweh and Garrison come back with 3 freshman and 3 incoming freshman?. Are we looking at 3 or 4 transfers max?

I love this. A half hour after the biggest Kentucky win in six years, this man is wondering who we got on next year’s roster.

Need a starting-caliber transfer PG and SG, and at least one starter in the front court.

Cal was quoted today as griping about the portal opening tomorrow.

                  I don’t blame him, but he’s overall a whiner.

Sure he is. His shtick gets/got old. But it is incredibly stupid. 16 coaches are not yet on vacation. Still being in the tourney should be a selling point. But they’re falling behind on the selling.

Any player who’s interested in one of the 16 remaining schools will likely wait until things shake out or have their camps reach out to said schools. No active coach is truly unable to work the portal right now. They all have proxies.

That was a massive deal for Pope today w/r/t his ability to get portal players for next season.

Now he shows he can win in March, and more importantly shows he’s right for this job. Those are big chips to play this spring/summer, and also it’ll give more incentive to the boosters to keep open their bags.

I know it won't happen because Z isn't leaving Cal and his brother will probably go pro, but could you imagine the Ivisic brothers in Pope's system?

Gotta get in better shape wherever he plays. We flat wore him out yesterday.

And the portal officially opens today.

Not that coaches abide by that rule, but regardless today is the day players can legally be contacted.

Kentucky, Kansas, and Creighton are the major players for Josh Dix.
