2025-26 Roster Chatter (UPDATE: Oweh Returns, Roster Complete)

Let's see, I have made roughly 70 phone calls today, head spent and mentally checked out but oh well, slow news off season day so may as well get this party started and argue of who's playing what spot and who starts blah blah blah.

Technically speaking, could care less as long as we win.

Im going with this 5 to begin.

Jasper ( I think he has to play him day 1 if possible simply because. Travis Perry walking away didn't help)
OWEH (He's my 3 in a 3 guard)

Potter and Hawthorne I know little about...

As it's been mentioned before, POPE will have a heck of a job keeping everyone happy engaged and locked in...

I could see JQ/Garrison situation getting out of hand based on what we have seen from Garrison. Obviously he wants to be a NBA player dedicated to shooting the 3 ball..

The Big Z situation was more about UK.

Kanter came at such a different time that I don't even think there's any context for that anymore in college sports.

I still think the NCAA had a big blank you for CAL while he was at Kentucky.

Hopefully that has passed, they didn't go him any favors and why would they, he was talking about getting rid of them and forming super conferences lol lol...

Yeah this is what I thought when Jones started talking about Johnson starting.

I love the fact that we'll have a couple of freshmen who can settle in and have good players around them. In the Cal era, they were just thrown to the wolves. But I can't imagine Johnson starting given this roster. If he does, he's made great strides over the summer.

There was a discussion above about how good the players are on this team vs. the team we have coming in.

One feather in last year's cap: it's possible that it will have beaten Duke, Oklahoma twice, and Illinois: three teams that could have seven players between them in the lottery.

I find that to be a statement about how college basketball has changed as much as anything.

If I had to guess, I would say his rationale is the need for a shooter in the starting lineup. If we’re looking at Lowe, Aberdeen, Oweh, Mo, and BG as the initial starters, the only real question there is the lack of knockdown shooting. Still, I don’t think that’s reason enough to start Jasper from day one, and I think those five will be good enough from three anyway.

Well, we all know Brandon Garrison is going to get his shots up.

When you factor in that and beating the national champion, it goes to show just how incredible of a job Pope did in year one with all of the injuries.
