The only notable player I played against was a friend of mine I would pick up for school and give him a ride , 6'11 all 8th region that ended up at Louisville then Eastern Kentucky. Slow traditional old school post player.
Now there was a guy that played street/park ball who was the truth, 6'4 built like Royce White that could shoot pass dribble drive defend and jump out of a gym, strong as a OX. In my opinion he better than Sleetz, Casey, Hurt, Slaughter, Simmons, or McKnight here in my area. He was the best of the best but he was a street hustler/dealer, college or pro ball was never in his DNA.Comment

If Oweh is a potential second round pick, I have to believe he can make more money by staying at Kentucky.
Plus the excitement of the roster that's being built, that has to be something he would be excited about I would assume...Comment

Everything I've seen suggests they're offering him around $600k more than we are, and his camp is trying to get a sense of his true market value. There's some belief that he's attracted to the role, exposure, and opportunity to win that he'd get at UK, but I still think this could be as simple as who's willing to write the largest check.
Edit: Supposedly, UK isn't willing to go dollar-to-dollar with IU. Since Indiana has so few players on its current roster, they're in position to spend as much as it takes to land Wilkerson. Don't take that as a statement on UK's NIL situation; it's just that more of our money is already tied up.Last edited by George; 04-14-2025, 01:05 PM.Comment

Indiana looks to have virtually no team other than the coach's son and an assortment of just a few others, so I'd say they have a pretty enormous war chest to pull from.
At this point with Kentucky, especially with Oweh hanging out there and Garrison having just pulled the trigger, conventional wisdom tells you that Kentucky might not have a ton more to throw out.
I was hoping Wilkerson, seeing a potential at playing on a title contender and his uncle being associated with UK and etc., would maybe jump in anyway. But I don't think Kentucky could beat them (or Auburn if it comes to it) in a bidding war at this point.Comment
