In what universe are Kam Williams and Trent Noah adequate scoring replacements for Jaxson Robinson and Koby Brea?

It will be Lowe (1), Wilkerson (2), Oweh (3), Diaboute (4), and Quaintance (5).

With Chandler, Johnson, Williams, Jelevic and Garrison as the main backups. Noah situationally. Perry and Moreno in spot minutes.

I also feel like Dioubate is going to be a much different role than AA. Almonor had one job. He needed to hit corner 3s because he really didn't do anything else will. Dioubate brings defense, intensity, rebounding, and athleticism that we didn't have last season.
I have a feeling AJ and JQ will start when it's all said and done, AJ looks like a baller

If Oweh returns, I assume Diaboute will start as well, guess he's the 2G

They're recruiting Wilkerson to be the 2. If they don't land him, they'll keep looking until they find one.

        1. Lowe / Chandler / Perry
        2. Wilkerson / Johnson
        3. Oweh / Williams / WVU transfer
        4. Dioubate / Jelevic
        5. Quaintance / Garrison / Moreno

          Dioubate is a forward.

The videos going around of Wilkerson at Keeneland are good. He got a beautiful day, maybe that'll sell him on Lexington.

Not if he guards a guard on a switch. Then he's a guard.

So Noah just rides the bench?

May want to switch Chandler and Johnson.

                Serious question?

Does Chandler have the potential to fill Oweh's shoe's?

He's athletic enough, decent size, can handle the ball, can guard, can jump out the gym. Shot may be better but getting to the rim is still a work in progress.

With a brand new hammer 🔨 and piercing 💅, I could care less what position any plays as long as we win.

If someone has a problem with the SF position, take it up with Mark Pope, he plays a 3 guard offens, call it what you want.

It's going to be very hard for Noah to get consistent time with this team if it stays healthy (given recent history at Kentucky it probably won't), but he'll fight for a spot for sure. But I'd like to see him stay just because at some point, he's going to be a player for us. Maybe just not next season.

It's very hard to play more than 10 players in a 40-minute game if everybody's healthy.

                    Right now,everything hinges on Oweh.

If he could shoot consistently from 23 feet I would be worried but he cant not right now.

Can a guy who had five good games fill the shoes of the guy who might be the preseason SEC Player of the Year?

Probably not. Tall order for Chandler.

Not much emotion comes out of him, so he'll always give that feel of not playing as hard as others. His shot falling at the end of the season definitely helped his play, but Pope clearly sees that he's more athletic than Noah and Perry and had patience with him. That patience paid off.
I agree with the two years away from basketball thing.

But he is a guy who was going through a slump. He'd hit 3 threes total before February 19th. That's a pretty hellacious slump.

I agree but if it's Wilkerson Chandler, he won't have that immediate pressure.

                          If Oweh returns, doesn't matter.

I feel they are after Wilkerson because they know something we don't in regards to Oweh though personally I feel Oweh isn't next level ready because of his jumpshot.

As for the money that Oweh may be getting offered from other schools, I'm not worried, feel we can match whatever it may be.

Noah will play situationally as needed to back up our forwards. There will be a frontline logjam.

Wilkerson and Oweh are completely different players.

As has been said maybe 50 times on this thread, the staff's behavior from the very beginning shows they want a shooter and perimeter scorer, i.e. a natural 2-guard. They've gone after several and Wilkerson is the latest.

                                Regardless, good problems to have.

I'm stoked about this AJ kid, 6'10 7'5 wingspan that can shoot dribble pass and attack the rim, plus his shot form looks pure and solid, Pope done landed a gem in my opinion..
