What happened with Chandler in those last games was probably the most surprising development of last season. I can't think of too many players Kentucky has had who went from not looking like they can even play at UK to showing up huge in the postseason.

True. I’m not sure he needs to shoot ALL his threes from 28 feet. But it’s great to know he can make them.

Of course. Which is why it was so important to get him experience this past season even though most of the arm chair coaches wanted to send him back to Utah and fire Pope for playing him.

I couldn't understand why he played.

I think Chandler was one of those players you hear about sometimes who just lost his confidence. In early February he really wasn't playing hardly at all.

His defense was as impressive as the threes. He brings a dimension with his size that can really be devastating, and by that point in the season he was playing super hard. I chalk that up to the confidence he'd gained when those shots started falling.

He's also sneaky athletic in a way that most of our players weren't last year. I think that really helped him, as well as the extra time in the weight room.

I saw a Justin Timberlake facsimile who hadn't played basketball in two years and I was ready to write him off, but it's clear that Pope has big plans for him going forward.

When I think of a kid who lost his confidence I think of a kid going through a slump. What Chandler dealt with was way more than that because he went two years without organized ball. He is also a guy that is pretty even and steady mentally. Not much emotion comes out of him, so he'll always give that feel of not playing as hard as others. His shot falling at the end of the season definitely helped his play, but Pope clearly sees that he's more athletic than Noah and Perry and had patience with him. That patience paid off.

It definitely put him ahead of Perry. I think in time Perry can contribute some here with a 6-8 minutes per game role where he comes in and doesn't hurt us. He's obviously not a kid that's going to play professionally, but that certainly doesn't mean he isn't capable of helping the team. Chandler is just quicker laterally, stronger, and bigger. He's way more capable of staying in front of the guards we see in the SEC. He could develop into a guy that guards the best player on the other team over the next few years.

I don't know much about this dude to be honest, sounds like a freak.

Based on what Will said he could do, sounded like a KD type player but bigger.

I will refer to our newest recruit as AJ.

Very few players in the 6'10/6'11 range have a 7'5 wingspan if this is correct who can shoot and put the ball on the floor.

Notable with these measurements, guy that played played for us 2012, KD, Greek Freek,Myles Turner, few others.

Drummond Duran and a few traditional post bigs have the measurements but are heavier, play post, can't shoot .

Be interesting to see how he develops.

Jasper and Moreno was snubbed at the Nike Hoop summit,no respect.

That should fuel ⛽️ some 🔥 this summer for both players.

Same here. Hopefully both will " buy in" work hard and determined to prove them all wrong.
