Also, Pope hints tonight in the coaches show that Trent Noah will return. Wants him to bulk up before next season.

Another thing Pope said is that they were 10 days behind on the portal because of playing in the Sweet 16. Kinda sounded…not concerned, but close when he discussed it.

I've always been a fan on the 6'5" + guard size but then you see a Butler/Ulis size guard that can tear people but also...but size can be a benefit on the defensive side
If you're smaller you have to be a stud. Look at Sears, Clayton, and Ziegler for example. Butler, IMO, would've been as valuable to us as those guys were to their teams had he been healthy all year. But, you have to have size SOMEWHERE. You can't have a 6' PG and a 6'2 SG. I think it's more important to have that size on the wing than at lead guard.

Not officially on our list yet, but keep an eye on Aday Mara.

            HUGE player.

You've got to be able to play, but one way UCONN went to those two titles in a row was through a massive human being inside. Those guys if they're durable and tough can just tear the game open for your guards.

Another interesting note: he and Alvara F. “are like brothers” and would play together.

                Whoa.

I'm convinced Folgueiras could play here. Not 100% sure about Mara...but that's just going by the stats and looking at his jump between freshmen and sophomore seasons. It's modest. But sometimes those big men make jumps between years two and three.

But the Folgueiras guy...he looks really, really good to me on paper.

UCLA must have really been counting on Mara next season. Los Angeles Times calls his departure a "massive setback."

UCLA 7-foot-3 center Aday Mara, who proved to be one of the biggest game-changers for the Bruins last season, has decided to leave Westwood.

Let’s hope we can get ‘em back for Dent.

Mara’s advanced metrics are pretty awesome.

                        Nice.

He was third in the Big 10 in blocks, I notice.

If we got Folguerias and Mara together, there's almost no chance of Brandon Garrison being here.

                          At least I assume.

Oh, no question. And the fact that we're flirting with so many bigs makes me think he's probably gone, regardless.

One of the top scorers in America, Jaron Piere of Jacksonville State (CUSA Player of the Year) is entering the portal. Will also enter the NBA Draft.

Just a reminder (unrelated to Piere or anyone else from today): it's April Fool's Day.
