Reading between the lines about Lowe. His freshman year he shot 36% from three. His sophomore year his minutes per game went up by ten. His points, rebounds, steals, and assists all went up and his shooting percentage from three went way down. He's also nearly 90% both seasons at the free throw line. The kid can shoot, it just seems like he had his role significantly increase and he was asked to do everything. Surround him with a better team and allow him to take good shots and I think we will be surprised. I remember seeing a stat about Buddy Heild in the NBA. On catch and shoot 3s he was something crazy like over 90%. If he took at least one dribble it dropped to like 15%. Maybe Lowe is more of a catch and shoot guy and playing the lead guard with the need to do everything he was forced into taking a bunch of shots off the dribble.

I know a lot of people want someone else at the 3. I'm fine rolling with Williams, Chandler, and Noah there. Give me Alvaro and Dioubate and I think we have a top 15, if not higher, roster.
PG Lowe/Lewis/Perry
SG Oweh/Johnson
SF Williams/Chandler/Noah
PF Alvaro/Dioudate
C Garrison/MorenoComment

But if there's something to that then heck yeah, if you plug him in there and everything else falls like that, Kentucky is absolutely a contender. That guy is EXACTLY what Kentucky was missing last season.Comment

Just scouring around, I only see one UK source that claims Kentucky has contacted Dioubate. He's only been in the portal since this morning.
He's a Queens native, so immediately you'd think St. John's...particularly with the way he plays. But he's got the type of game that Mark Pope hasn't been able to get yet in his time at Kentucky.Comment

Piere is a must.
PG Lowe / Lewis / Perry
SG Piere / Johnson / Chandler
SF Oweh / Williams / Noah
PF Folgueras
C Garrison / Moreno
Even with this roster, we need one more big. Either that, or we need to hope Garrison has gotten a lot better and that Moreno is ready on day one. I've seen no indication that Pope is even interested in Dioudate, but he would be a much needed immediate impact.Comment

Kam Williams is a really interesting player with his size and how he can shoot, but his overall stats make him seem like a background player, not a starter and not even close to a fill-in for a departed Oweh.
Unless of course Williams just gets a ton better between now and next November. (Or he benefits greatly from playing in Pope's system, a la Oweh.)Comment
