Is BOOGIE FLAND a option as crazy as that may sound...
I'll ask again. What do you think Oweh and Lowe want to hear from an NBA team? That they're using a first round pick on them? Second round? Undrafted contract? Or a G League or two way deal?

IMO they both want to be first round picks and that simply isn't happening this year, so they'll both be at UK next season. You might think they want to hear something different.

What are you even talking about at this point??

Mozgov was eligible in 08, was signed in 2010 on his first rookie deal, not 2015..

Oweh is playing 5 on 5 today at the combine. This guy is live tweeting and says he's played very well. 3 of 3 from the field with some good defense.

Givony mentions the high level of play in the 5 on 5 but doesn't specifically mention Oweh.

High level scrimmage to start off the 5x5 portion of the NBA Draft Combine. Guys playing hard and pretty unselfishly. Lot of players helping themselves so far: Tahaad Pettiford, Yaxel Lendeborg, Mackenzie Mgbako, Alex Toohey, Hansen Yang, Miles Byrd, Hunter Sallis and more.

Box score. Oweh with 10 points and a couple of steals, but did go 0-2 from three.

Auburn's Tahaad Pettiford led all scorers. Can't really see him returning to school but if he did he'd be a Naismith candidate.

The tweet says he was a standout. Acquitted himself nicely but his line doesn't stand out from the rest of the guys if you ask me. 4-8 from the field and 2-2 from the FT line. 12 of the 18 players were in double figures.

So sorry. I was thinking 2010 and that it was 15 years ago, and my mind processed 2015. Still, the point remains the same.

If we are to take guys like Oweh at their word what they are looking for is a guarantee of a first round selection, even if that bottom rung could well be less money than at college. While I don't want to make a habit of quoting John Calipari, a proven player makes their money on their second contract.
is Otega Oweh a first round selection? I really don't know. A lot of teams right now are projected to be looking for point guards. Freshmen, seniors, foreign players....whatever. point guard seems to be the thing for over half the teams. Two or three power forwards, the center from South Carolina....few shooting guards. A good agent will ALSO have to look at who will be draftable next year....will Owehs slot be more full?

As far as hand wringing over IF HE GOES...ain't got a clue. Maybe a combo of Aberdeen, Chandler and Noah. It'll be what it is.

AND YES, ANYONE WANTING TO EVENYUALLY BE DRAFTED GOES IN AND SAYS 'I AM ALL IN ON THIS'. You never go in saying awww...don't really wanna be here. That would be wasting everyone's time and they'll remember it.

It's gonna play the way it does. The great thing for Oweh is he is gonna make nice money next year somewhere.

I agree, Bill. My philosophy is the same as yours just let it play out and whatever happens it'll be as it is.

                            What's the fun in that?

I just think this draft is too stacked for Oweh. Even if you forgive the shooting and tell yourself some team could fix his form, there are just so many good players in this draft.

They say next year might be better...but I don't know. I just think this field is extremely crowded.

That's putting aside the question of Oweh ever becoming a first rounder. Who knows. But there are probably 40+ players who could make a stake for the first round. Brutal wilderness of talent.

We all know Oweh's toughness, talent and value if he returns. I'm thinking, dangerous I know, but what if he finds out he needs to change his shot and he comes back and works on it so much it takes away from his game. I'll take this young man exactly like he was last year.
