I lived through Eddie Sutton...I can feel what some friends of mine that are Louisville fans are going through, but here's it in a nutshell:

this is the third time his actions or lack of actions have embarrassed the University.
If he didn't know anything about stripper gate, shame on him. If he didn't know about this as well, where does the term lack of institutional control come in.

the athletic director went to bat for him twice....and the school has lost millions of dollars especially due to th Powell fiasco. Refusing to fire Pitino for this, as is alleged to be what happened, is a signal that there is something terribly wrong....no executive, no matter how loyal, can expect to survive a third go round....that's insane.

Where’s BJD when we need him?

I figured that post would get a few going.

I had another thought today. If I remember correctly, Teddy Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson were recruited by nearly all the upper level SEC schools, Miami and Florida State. Both surprisingly picked UL. Any thoughts?

Bridgewater was mentioned in the ESPN article about how this mess started as a client of the clothier in the middle of it. That alone doesn't implicate impermissible benefits but indicated he could be in bed with those involved.

Does UL football have an adidas contract as well? Did Jurich broker it for all UL sports or did Slick just do it for bball?

This all is somewhat humorous since Pitino& UofL are involved--it would be absolutely rib-splitting if it was Duke or UNC but overall this is terribly bad for college basketball!!!!!!!

I thought about this. But, IMO, Strong doesn't seem like the kind of guy to let this stuff go on. Now, he may have not know, but it seems like he runs a tight ship and wants to do things the right way.

Crean just signed a substantial deal with ESPN to be one of their lead college b'ball analysts. I doubt he wants the pressure of what this rebuilding job is going to entail.

Looks like I won't be watching ESPN then. Crean is the goofiest, weirdest person on the planet. No way I am listening to him talk about anything.
