Don't know but UL could take the UNC approach. This is an FBI issue, not an NCAA issue. NCAA has no jurisdiction. Pitino is not in jail...he can coach. Bowen is not in jail...he can play.

Bowen may have his degree and be in the NBA before NCAA makes a ruling.

My thumbs are not that fast. I had not seen post #196.

Jurich meeting lasted all of 7 minutes. He left in a hurry without comment. Most think he was fired.

I only read KSR these days when something major happens, but Matt Jones raised an interesting angle last night I hadn't even considered: the Yum center. If things are as bad as they appear for Louisville and the death penalty is on the table, you have to wonder about the economic hole that will leave in downtown Louisville with the Yum Center debt.

Yeah, the posturing is to make sure he gets some, if not all, of his 44 million buyout. He knows he's gone (hence the reason his attorney is already front and center) only thing left is negotiations.

Yep. As a Ketnucky fan, I want UofL to burn; as a Kentuckian, this is bittersweet. UofL's destruction could have a severely detrimental impact on not just the city's, but the state's, economy. Kentucky needs every economic boost it can get.

That was discussed on the DD show this morning. Absent a death penalty, the area businesses will still suffer due to reduced attendance at games. That will impact the revenue from the TIF district funds. If there is a death penalty, UofL still has to negotiate terminating the lease and how much money they'll owe the Fair Board/State in that termination. That said, I don't think they terminate the lease, but likely restructure the contract if they avoid the death penalty.

I read that in Pitino's contract it has to be voted on and it takes about 10 days to finalize his release, something to that nature..

And the NBA comes back to Louisville in my opinion...

In a way, it's more satisfying that Jurich seems to have gotten the axe first.
