Sorry, not trying to be obtuse, I'm just unclear why the FBI is concerned with schools/shoe companies bribing players to come to a certain school when this is something that has gone on for decades.Comment

Also, I think we know why Cal has avoided some recruits and "missed" on some the last few yrs.......👍 1Comment

I assume there are multiple IRS/tax laws broken as well that the Federal government has an interest in.Comment

How funny is it going to be, if we find out that Cal is, in fact, a FREAKING SHARK who is incredibly shrewd about steering clear of corruption in college basketball? That would certainly turn the narrative on its head.
My big concern is that as with PEDs in sports, no one at the top is really "clean".Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Watched the news conference and I didn't hear UL mentioned, but they are a major Adidas school.John 3:3

I don't think they named any school or even Adidas in the press conference?
They're referring to the document that's been made public as the "charging document." They redacted the schools' names for some reason.Comment

They haven't officially named Louisville. But, they said a school in Kentucky, with (for example because I don't remember the number) 23,487 students (the number in the article was the exact number of students at Louisville) who is already on probation, and received a high profile commitment from a top tier basketball player on or around June 3rd. I believe Bowen committed to them either the 3rd or 4th. Sources are saying Louisville but it hasn't been confirmed. Supposedly they have wire taps with conversations involving staff members and talks of Adidas reps agreeing to send $100,000 in four payments to the recruit's family.Comment
