52 Dustin Williams, was Kentucky's second
leading tackler in 2003. As a sophomore led the SEC in tackles per game. Williams had 100 tackles on the season as of November 11, 2003 (an average of 11.1 stops per game). With three games remaining, Williams already had become the first Wildcat to reach the century mark in tackles since Mike Schellenberger in 1995. A torn hamstring injury prior to August 2004 kept him out of play in 2004 and he left the team.

A player from 1952, Jerry Mingis. I've got a press photo for him from 1952 it looks like the number is 53 to my naked failing eye. I'm posting him today because I have additional period photos of him (one reports him in number 74 which obviously doesn't fit his press photo. The second one is a Richmond, Virginia newspaper article showing him in 1956 trying to make the Richmond Spiders team and identifying him as a transfer from Kentucky. Guess the Bear got the better of him!!
October 15, 1952 Kentucky beats Cincinnati 14-6.
Action from the game shows the following Kentucky players:
LB Tommy Adkins (31)
Tackle Jerry Mingis (74). The 1952 UK Football Media Guide shows him as a freshman, meaning he would've been ineligible for varsity play based on existing rules.
John Griggs (55)
UC players:
Harry Andradis (66)
Nate Harlan (88)
Andy Matto (80)
Don Grammer (82)

Game action in a 1974 win over LSU (20-13).
The defensive unit of the 1975 University of Kentucky football team called themselves The Dirty Dozen, after a movie about a daring raid behind enemy lines during World War II. The movie starred Lee Marvin and former Cleveland Browns great Jim Brown. In early October, the defensive unit, then ranked eighth in the nation, pose for a photo in military gear, with the help of J&H Army Surplus.
