Something I hope someone can explain:

Let's say Zion Williamson was on the fence. John Wall picks him up at the air port. Not just Wall, but any former player. What rule prevents them from giving some cash to a recruit? Is it because they are alumni? How do they prove a donation to a family is for a basketball player? I know it would be illegal, but I just don't know what specific rules make it that way.

I watched a couple of the ESPN banter shows to see what they were saying about all of this. One of the ones on Around The Horn brought up how far reaching this FBI probe could go. It could easily get into the NCAA and what they have been involved in, if anything, regarding this. If they should be found to be, say, taking some kickbacks from the shoe companies to ignore these payments to players then we have something that could totally change the way college athlectics are administered.

I'd say there are lots of people, (colleges that haven't been named, NCAA etc.), that are quaking in their boots right now.

I am very concerned. Will there be any D1 schools that have affiliations with shoes, uni's etc that won't be implicated? Makes me nervous for sure

I agree, Cathy. I'd say we (meaning UK bb fans) shouldn't relax or assume anything until the investigation is complete.

Heard that on Deener's program this morning. About ten minutes later he said based on his sources close to the FBI investigation, that Pitino-is-Coach-2 is inaccurate. Be interesting to see which is correct. If it's the former, he's dumber than I thought, will NOT have a chance in hell at his buyout and looking at prison time unless he cuts a singing deal.
