It is, but like you said, two titles are pretty next-level. Definitely an easier case to make for him.

Continues to sound like Powell-to-UK isn’t going to happen.

I guess Cal figures he can do better than Powell.

I think now that he got Grady he's looking for a true point guard. The window seemed to be open for Powell before Grady. Either the staff didn't extend a full offer or Powell hesitated for some reason, and now it seems the window is closed.

Since UTk has the same SEC rule problem that UK does, I'm surprised he isn't looking a non SEC schools.

Yep. People thinking we're just going to have 3 guys at both guard positions aren't thinking about the fact that not only do these dudes want to play, they wanna play 30 mins. We have enough at the 2 & 3. (Assuming Mintz is coming back). Need a game changer at point.

Which means the rule had nothing to do with the situation here.

So, it seems logical that signing Powell, a 2G, would reduce the probability of Mintz returning. But would signing Powell impact the recruiting of a true PG? A number of other post seem to make the jump that we didn't offer Powell because we need a PG. Don't see how they are related.

Keep an eye on Marcus Carr and Kentucky.

I won’t be mad if Carr comes to Kentucky, but given the choice, I’d rather have Zegarowski every day of the week. It’ll take a little wind out of my sails if he puts his name in the portal after Carr commits to Kentucky.

I would too but Carr is such a dynamic player that you can't pass him up if he's out there. You would think they would both test the NBA waters though so it might be awhile before we hear anything.

I agree. Carr is a great back-up plan. I am still told UK/Cal expected Zegarowski to transfer and come to UK. But, not sure what the hold up is. If Carr wants to come I don't think they pass on him and wait.
