I didn't think I could be less interested in anything than high school recruiting, but it turns out that I dislike the transfer portal stuff even more.

I long for the old days when we didn’t need transfers but if what Cal is signing right out of high school (some of which played 3 years) were all we were getting we’d win fewer than 9 games per year going forward. If we want a good team next year we’ve just gotta have them. Therefore I’m interested.

I'm not saying Mintz wasn't good. I just don't see him as a deal-breaker one way or the other.
So, is Powell a good enough PG to take us to a Final Four?

I agree that it's important. It's just hard for me to pay attention to it when there's like 1000+ in the pool and most of them are not able to play at a high level.

He’s a SG. If we get him in and eligible we still need a major upgrade at PG.

Catching up. Where did the word about Bassey come from?

No, not at PG. He’d help as a scorer who could play on-ball as needed, but I wouldn’t have high hopes about the season if he were our lead guard.

I’d still love to have him.

I don't see how Powell comes to UK if Mintz stays. Cal is going to get a PG somehow and a new PG, Grady, Askew, Mintz, Allen, and Powell doesn't fit.

I guess I'm confused. An Auburn website said he started 7 games at PG before going down with a concussion.

Just because Cooper was still ineligible so he was put more in that role for the time being.

Powell was definitely playing some point guard at Auburn. Not sure if that's his natural position or not but when ESPN did that breakdown of him early in the season most of the clips were at point guard.

Don't think he's that electric, go-get-a-bucket-any-time-but-also-run-the-team point guard we need but he's the kind of talent that would be very hard to pass up if they think the SEC transfer rule will be waived.

Looks like Powell played up through Jan 2–10th game, Cooper burst on the scene Jan 9–12th game with 27 pts 9 assists and 3 steals.

We know what it’s like to stick a 2 guard in at PG. Not saying Powell didn’t suffice there when needed.

Powell is beginning to slip away.

I am told he is still 100% headed to UK if the SEC changes the transfer rule. But, he wants to make a decision in the next "3-4 weeks" so the SEC is going to have to move fast or he is headed elsewhere.

                                Why do you say that?
