Kofi ****************burn is entering the portal. I doubt we’d get after him if Duren doesn’t come to UK, but I wouldn’t be too mad if we did.

      I agree.

      Great news about Mintz!

Mintz returning is just huge. Became much more likely with NIL in place. Love the dude. Hope he blows the rook off Rupp with some big threes.

Duren or ****************burn is a real possibility, and at that point returning to New Orleans in April is a probability....

        Unreal off-season for UK basketball

Massive 1 year swing from a dearth of shooting to a plethora of shooters. I’ll still be rooting for Dontae when he’s on the floor, but if he can’t earn any minutes I won’t be complaining. Totally different deal than sitting behind Boston and Askew.

Kofi will be 22 before the season. He’s 7 ft 285 lbs.
            Duren will be 18 in mid November. He’s 6’ 10” 230 lbs.
Future ceiling you want Duren because of skill set. But who helps a college team more for 1 year?
Not that we have our choice between the 2. We may get neither. But what do we want to happen?

I’d prefer Duren, and while I wouldn’t turn ****************burn down, he does seem like a tougher fit in our current lineup. You can see how Duren brings elite and sophisticated skills to his position that would complement Oscar, whereas Kofi looks like a redundancy — albeit a gigantic, high-quality redundancy.

I’d lean that way as well. Duren is young but could potentially be our biggest star in quite a while. I’m sure I’ve seen less of him than you (DVZ) and some others but it’s tough to say how badly I want him to join us. I’ve soured on reclassified PG’s but not elite bigs.

It’s pretty difficult to overstate how significant an impact Duren would have on the program. He’d vault us into championship contention and reset the tone of the program to something like we saw when John Wall committed. Not saying we’d return to nothing but OAD players from year to year, but we’d regain a lot of that “cool factor” that Wall brought to the program.

On the court, though? There just aren’t very many players as gifted as Duren. He’s truly elite and would be one of the best players in America from day one.

Aaron Torres claims at least a half dozen high major assistants have told him ****************burn is expected to go to UK if he returns to college...

UK already has a potential FF team, add either ****************burn or Duren (which is more likely than not IMO) and they're the favorite to win the Title.

****************burn will be one of the best centers in America if he comes back, but Duren is a generational talent. Plus he would complement Oscar better.

cant lose either way. Cal already has his work cut out for him with regards to keeping guys happy... add one of these and he almost has to run a platoon of some sort.

One thing about "keeping guys happy" ...NIL will help quite a bit

Man, you get Kofi on the team and we probably have the most imposing front court in the country. I’d rather not see Cal try to play Kofi and Oscar at the same time all that often; sending one in right after the other, though, could beat just about any team into submission.

Kofi makes Kentucky a contender IMO.

Back in May I was told ****************burn will likely come to UK with Antigua and Chin (apparently Travis Graf was too)... and I just shrugged it off thinking no way....well, looks like it may very well happen
