Now that we are putting together a decent backcourt, Isiah Jackson would definitely complete the puzzle. When is the deadline for him to make up his mind?

The Mock boards are all over the place with Jackson, anywhere from 17-30. Haven't hardly seen anywhere where he is going to be a lottery pick, but even with what he said I don't see any chance of him coming back if he is a guaranteed first rounder.

Oh I agree, I have said since the start of the Cal era, if you are guaranteed to go in the first round I have no right to say you shouldn’t. It’s the guys that go late second or undrafted that drive me nuts. Just looking back if even half the players that went undrafted came back and played, oh how different some of our seasons would’ve been.

I agree. But to be honest....theres a ton that goes into those decisions....some have family to care for, some are getting bad advice from folk. I'm sure some of these kids didnt care for college at all....and to be honest I wonder if one or two were looking at academic eligibility questions.
which is just part and parcel of it all. When you sell the place as the place to make the next step....well....sometimes folks just dont realize they arent ready for that step.

Keion Brooks is being made available next week for media inquiries which would imply he's coming back.

Would be hilarious if amid all the speculation he just shows up without ever saying a word.

Brooks' journey at UK has been odd. From the voice of the team last summer to the lingering injury to being virtually persona non grata this spring to the point we don't even know if he's staying or going, it's been kind of a weird ride for Keion in Lexington.

I hope he comes back because I do think he has some potential as a "positionless" player and he'd probably be the best athlete on the team again (assuming Jackson leaves). And you always need a guy who has been in the program for two years to return considering that rarely ever happens here.

Cal also says that even if Mintz and Jackson don't return, Kentucky is finished adding players to its roster.

On another board people are saying Cal's demeanor seemed to suggest Mintz might be coming back. At one point he said we'd have six guards and Mintz would be the sixth.

That’s fine. Wonder if he’s recruiting Mintz or Jackson.

I'd be surprised if he is really trying to get Jackson back knowing he's a guaranteed first rounder. I hope I am wrong, but history pretty much tells us how this will play out.

Jackson has hired an agent and will not return to Kentucky.
