I love cauliflower, but not raw. I can eat most any vegetable raw, but not cauliflower. Raw it tastes earthy, almost like dirt. In the summer we grill/smoke vegetables with hickory and apple with a spray of olive oil. They get seared in slotted pan for about 2 minutes and then placed away from the heat and smoked for about 5 minutes so they're still crisp. That's my favorite way to eat cauliflower.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

3 tacos for lunch with homemade chorizo, potatoes, black beans, onions, queso fresco, and a dab of hot sauce. I've also started cooking home made corn tortillas which puts the store bought completely to shame. One of my favorites these days. Makes killer soup.Comment

Do you need any special equipment for that, or does a standard rolling pin work?Comment

I bought a cast iron press on Amazon and it works great. I've made them using a rolling pin and that works too, just slower. I use wax paper on top and bottom and I toast them in my mama's old cast iron skillet. Doesn't take long. I get Masa corn at Kroger's but I'm going to a Mexican grocery next time and try theirs.Comment

I had one for years but it got gummed up to the point it was unusable. An aside regarding olive oils, there was a good article in one of the foodie magazines I get (can't recall which one) regarding olive oils and what to look for regarding certification on the labels. Turns out much of the olive oils available are blends with very little olive oil but still marketed as virgin or extra virgin.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. One (relatively quick) way of testing is to put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. If it solidifies, it's real.Comment

I mentioned earlier in this thread about the fraud regarding EVOO. Yes, it's illegal. I switched from Imported to olive oil from California Olive Ranch. It's VERY good in a side by side comparison with stuff from the EU.
Award-winning quality from California and beyond. With over 230 awards over the last 10 years, elevate your cooking with our extra virgin olive oils, vinegars, sauces, marinades, pestos, and sprays.
It's readily available at Kroger's or on-line.Comment

We've had pretty good luck with Trader Joe's Spanish olive oil. It's the real stuff and it's fairly inexpensive.Comment
