Now broccoli, I'll eat that all day long. One of my favorite simple meals is a bag of frozen broccoli with a chicken breast cut into small'ish pieces and tossed in a little bit of olive oil, salt/pepper/garlic, thyme, and lemon zest. Every now and then I'll sprinkle a little bit of shredded parmesan on top and throw it back in the oven for a few minutes.

Really good, and pretty good for you.
LOL!! Go on with your bad self!!! I can smell it from here lol. Cooking at home just makes sense to me. It's convenient, fun, dirt cheap, healthy, easy to share with friends, and it makes the house smell really good!!!

        lol
I love cauliflower, but not raw. I can eat most any vegetable raw, but not cauliflower. Raw it tastes earthy, almost like dirt. In the summer we grill/smoke vegetables with hickory and apple with a spray of olive oil. They get seared in slotted pan for about 2 minutes and then placed away from the heat and smoked for about 5 minutes so they're still crisp. That's my favorite way to eat cauliflower.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

If you steam or boil the Califlower until its really soft and mash it up and add whatever seasonings/ flavors you want and its like eating Mash Potatoes.

One of the best kitchen purchases I've made for under $10 is an olive oil mister. much better than the crap you buy at the store with the additives.

Absolutely. I'm a barbecue nut - I love to wake up at 5 am to put a dead animal on a smoker and let that sucker go all day. That isn't healthy but it's delicious, and I'd put my smoked meats up there with a lot of barbecue restaurants.

3 tacos for lunch with homemade chorizo, potatoes, black beans, onions, queso fresco, and a dab of hot sauce. I've also started cooking home made corn tortillas which puts the store bought completely to shame. One of my favorites these days. Makes killer soup.

Do you need any special equipment for that, or does a standard rolling pin work?

I bought a cast iron press on Amazon and it works great. I've made them using a rolling pin and that works too, just slower. I use wax paper on top and bottom and I toast them in my mama's old cast iron skillet. Doesn't take long. I get Masa corn at Kroger's but I'm going to a Mexican grocery next time and try theirs.

Like this? Or a round one like this? I've got the rectangular one as shown. It's great for country ham, bacon, burgers, etc.

I had one for years but it got gummed up to the point it was unusable. An aside regarding olive oils, there was a good article in one of the foodie magazines I get (can't recall which one) regarding olive oils and what to look for regarding certification on the labels. Turns out much of the olive oils available are blends with very little olive oil but still marketed as virgin or extra virgin.

I've seen that before too, and it made me wonder how that could actually be legal?

One (relatively quick) way of testing is to put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. If it solidifies, it's real.

8" round. Victoria brand I believe.

I mentioned earlier in this thread about the fraud regarding EVOO. Yes, it's illegal. I switched from Imported to olive oil from California Olive Ranch. It's VERY good in a side by side comparison with stuff from the EU.

Award-winning quality from California and beyond. With over 230 awards over the last 10 years, elevate your cooking with our extra virgin olive oils, vinegars, sauces, marinades, pestos, and sprays.

                              It's readily available at Kroger's or on-line.

We've had pretty good luck with Trader Joe's Spanish olive oil. It's the real stuff and it's fairly inexpensive.
