If any of you are near (or near-ish) Abingdon, VA, there's an excellent olive oil shop there. Neat town in general. A few nice restaurants, the Bard Theatre, cool shops and some great outdoor activities (including the Virginia Creeper Trail).

Let me know when you plan to head up there and I'll pass along what info I have.

In the spirit of the thread, you'll want to eat at The Tavern. The building is incredible; been there since the 1700s.

I'm up for trying it...as long as they serve black coffee and sixteen-penny nails.

I pass through Abingdon anytime I go back to my hometown of Cumberland. It is a neat little town although I have never explored it much. I passed through there a couple of weeks ago in fact. My parents use to go to the Barter theater quite a bit. George C. Scott got his start there too. I also had a 2nd cousin that did quite a bit of acting there many years ago now.
            Kentucky fan since 1971.

My Father was from SC. Lots of souse and headcheese at our house. My Mother finally banned him from putting hog brains in scrambled eggs. LOL!!!

Supper was a casserole with mixed rice veggies as the base. Tweaked the veg all recipe. Not bad. Egg beaters and bacon for breakfast
