Interesting. Not sure what that means for Trae Young, if anything, but it's kind of a surprising twist. If Young doesn't want to play with Green not just why he'd want to play with Duvall.

It is interesting. And today Young announces he will be announcing his commitment date later this week....may just be Young trying to beat Duvall to the punch....

Yeah, I'd say what happened there is Kansas brought in Duval to try and push Young.
Kansas got a good one IMO if it turns out that way. Young's offensive numbers remind me of Luke Kennard's in high school.
Sorta still wish we could have landed Young, but if Green's even part of the reason why we've been able to put together such a good class - and are in the hunt for Bamba - then it might be worth the trade-off in scoring ability. Tough thing to measure, though.
Either way, I love Green's toughness, vision, and passing. Should be a great distributor, and we'll have plenty of weapons next season.
After the first three or four games I thought Gabriel was 100% gone.
Then through the next set of games I thought he had no shot.
Now after the last couple he seems to be a guy that would be intriguing for some team late in the first round.
Great size. Capable outside shooter. Tremendous motor. NBA length. He checks all the boxes except for strength and ballhandling ability. I'd love for him to come back to give us something besides freshmen next year, but the great irony is that for us to win a title this year he needs to keep playing like he has.
And as of now i'd say Gabriel is 0% gone....not even listed in the top 100 in the latest mock, and after forgetting how to shoot the ball the last few games it will take an impressive next few months to get people to change their mind....
I know, I know, these things change from game to game, but I just don't think he is gonna leave to go to the D-league.

Young says he is down to three programs, but didn't say which one. I just can't imagine he doesn't pick KU.
What would make it interesting if for some crazy reason Duvall swooped in and committed to KU, would we have a shot then? maybe?
But if I had to bet I would say Duvall to Duke and Young to KU. Kinda interesting how the rumors about Duvall's eligibility has been quiet lately, can't imagine Coach K going after a questionable recruit academics wise.
PJ Washington is playing in some sort of HS tourney ay Marshall County High School this weekend!!! He had a big game yesterday against Hopkinsville High!!!!
Did you catch this video from PJ Washington over the weekend?
First, he says "Be ready. Next year we're going to win it all..." Last person I recall who said that was Anthony Davis at the McDonald's All American game.
Next, he says he thinks Bamba and Knox are close to committing to committing to UK.
He said we can never have too many 5 star recruits with Coach Cal and he's been recruiting for us.
Looks like to me he was at Marshall County HS, I love this interview, and this kid!
An interesting thing that's unfolding is how Bam falling out of the mock drafts--at least Chad Ford's; he's still in the first round according to Draft Express--might be problematic w/r/t landing Bamba.
I'd personally rather have a sophomore Bam. A powerhouse sophomore playing in front (or alongside if they want to turn Bam into a 4*) of a shot-blocker like Richards could potentially be a heck of a combo.
Bam and Gabriel returning with the team that's already assembled...I like the thought of that, and it's definitely possible at this point.
* If they could sell Bam as a 4 to Bamba then you could potentially add him as well with no conflict. I'm sure there would be some intense negative recruiting against UK as far as that goes.

So true. Coaches will use that theory to sway Bamba away from Kentucky. Cal will need to be strong and honest in order to win this kid.
If Bamba is concerned about that then all he has to do is wait and see how the next few weeks go.....
If we lose in the second round and Bam doesn't play great for the next few weeks he might drop out of the first round, although I still say he gets drafted easily in the first round because of his size and potential.
It was always kind of a given that Bam was gone after this year, but I wonder if he would leave if he wasn't a guaranteed first rounder? Would Loooove to have him another season after developing his game over the summer. But I am not getting my hopes up, I'm sure he'll leave.
I think Knox will get swayed by another school promising him a lot of PT, but you never know what is in kids minds these days.
