Evidently he's on campus today.

If he comes to UK, at this time, this will really be interesting, especially if he only stays one semester.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

The biggest concern I would have is if he would mess with the chemistry of the current players. This group seems to like each other and play well together. Bringing someone in late and taking playing time from another could do some harm. We'' ll see. Cal seems to be a master at getting players to buy in. He may have a challenge with something like this.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

I agree, if it was a guarantee he'd be back I may feel different but it has to be an awkward situation for the current players if this "new" guy who is most likely only staying for a semester, comes in and starts getting PT. Even if he came I don't see him earning PT for a month or two, so why even do it, just go train with some pro guy that will prepare you for the draft. I honestly don't think he is anywhere ready for the NBA, don't get me wrong he's an athletic player but he's far from a lottery pick, from what I have seen,Comment

That's what I was getting ready to type when I read your post. Cal has caught the devil over his one and dones, I can only imagine what people will be saying if he takes a player who's only here for one semester. A guy like that wouldn't even have to attend classes if he didn't want to.Philippians 4:11-4:13👍 1Comment

I believe in Cal's judgement on this situation, I would have no doubt that he hasn't talked the team about it if he even thinks there is a chance he will want to come here for a semester.
On another note, Evan daniels is not even under the impression he would play anywhere he goes, he says he might just practice with the team, etc. So who even knows what this kid will do, it seems UCONN has just a good of a shot of landing him anyway, he's far from a UK lock.Comment

I will gladly accept anybody who will help us get wins. If he is coming then I'm sure Cal has talked to the team about it. Odds are that he will come off the bench throughout most of conference play unless he's just off the charts. The main goal in NCAA Basketball is Final Fours and NC's so let's get him ready for tournament play. What little I have heard about him is that he's a decent shooter and we need that BAD! Come on to the BBN...we WANT you!Last edited by Friendsofcoal; 12-29-2016, 02:54 AM.Comment

Per KSR, Cal is trying to stop the Arizona visit for Diallo by getting him to sign with the Cats before going out there.
Would be highly interesting for him to come on and not play this season at all. We have need for a fourth guard; if he comes to UK and just practices it would be highly unusual. I can't imagine him just jumping in to the fray and being any more than just a piece, but even that would be an upgrade over what we have coming off the bench now. (Though I do like Mulder more than Cal, apparently.)
If we can get him for a year and a half, then Cal is probably a Bamba/Knox signing away from having arguably his best class.Comment

If he's old enough after this season then he will be gone to the draft. We are dreaming by thinking he'll stay for year 2.Comment

It doesn't make sense to me either, but a lot of knowledgeable people who absolutely have sources are saying this is what Cal is indeed pushing for.Comment

Perhaps Cal thinks Diallo is the missing link, and he's willing to take him for the remainder of the season in order to enhance our chances.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment

Could be but I think the ghosts of last year's recruiting class--the Murray one--still linger in Cal's mind, so he's trying to get the class rounded out while he has a shot to do it.
I think this is more about next year. Same reason Cal was out there watching Knox last night. He doesn't want to be sitting there in May and trying to rely on a graduate transfer to start at shooting guard.Comment
