We are going to be loaded int he front court next year, especially if we get Bamba. Still need help int he back court but I really like Richards and Washington.Comment

It appears we will return Humphries and SKJ and, as of now, Gabriel. Those three with our class will be fantastic. If we add Bamba look out. That could be the deepest front court Cal has had here. If we finish with Bamba and Young we will have everything we could possibly think about needing next year.Comment

Sounds like still a pretty decent shot of Diallo to UK for semseter 2 this year. He was at UCONN today to see them get beat by Auburn. Will visit UK in January.

The Diallo thing sounds all kind of sketchy.
But if Kentucky were to pull a crazy coup and grab him then he would fit exactly what Kentucky needs. Would make us immediately better the first time he stepped on the floor.Comment

I've heard good things about Diallo, but haven't seen him play. If he commits and begins play in the second semester, I wonder what that does to moral. He sounds like a player we need to compete for a title, but if it disrupts the team, it could be not a good thing. Somebody is going to sit.Comment

Good point. Sometimes having too many players, even good ones, can be a problem.
He's a similar player to guys we already have. And the idea that he'd just be able to come in in January and help might be a pipe dream. There have been situations in college basketball in the recent past where teams get players eligible and everybody thinks those players are going to make this huge difference, but they don't.
Only five players can play the game at a time.
All that said, I've seen some experts say who've watched Diallo that he's a superstar. Guys were watching him just a couple of months ago at an event and raving about how hard he plays. It's not like we have tremendous depth at guard. I'd like to see it happen...but as you say there are risks.Comment

Agree that there are potential downfalls. I'm sure Cal has considered all of that and hopefully has a good feel for how the current guys would take it. I think for a guy that's as good as Diallo is considered to be you have to take the chance. Would be great to get 1 semester now and a full year next year but I feel certain that is only a dream. He is taking his official visit next week so it sounds like the chances are increasing.

Article by Ben Roberts on how lacking the shooting is from the 2017 class. UK may be in some trouble if they don't bring in another three point shooter for next season. If you can criticize one thing about Cal's recruiting is that he doesn't value shooting enough sometimes. He will always go with athletes over shooters. But I think you have to have a couple of dead eye three shooters in this day and age of basketball.

I would not take Diallo for one semester only..He cant shoot and it would seem very likely to cause problems with team chemistry..Whose time is he going to get..Can he guard any better than the guys we have now? i will be very disappointed if Cal adds him for one semester only. Not what we need right now.Comment
