Actually, in total fairness, I believe Cal's beef about grad transfers were those transfers from mid-majors to major programs. Johnson wouldn't fit into that.

Still, I've heard him lament the grad transfer rule many times in the past. But I guess now (and with Julius Mays) it's okay.

I don't see this as hypocritical at all for the very reasons you mentioned. Pitt isn't a rinky-dink school who lucked into a game-changer and is now losing that player to one of the big boys. You also don't have the mercenary element with Johnson because he has two more years of eligibility, instead of the typical single season.

Anytime a student chooses to leave there is nothing wrong in going after him. He is going to school somewhere so why not UK?

Cal also laments the one and done rule, but he still embraces it as a matter of expedience.

I think there could be some politics in Cal lamenting one and done. Not so sure it bothers him.

I totally agree. Cal says "players first", so whatever the players decide is in their best interest. He should support their decisions, and accept transfers if it is in their best interests.

Per several sites, UK has offered Jemari Baker, a four star shooting guard from CA.

Jarred Vanderbilt parlays a great showing at the Nike Hoop Summit into a top ten draft projection.

Kentucky commit Jarred Vanderbilt is projected as a top-10 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, according to Chad Ford of ESPN.

Includes info about Vanderbilt and Bamba.

(Spoiler: scouts are picking Bamba to UK.)

People have been slow to realize and come to terms of the fact that next year's team (if the pieces fall into place) will have as much chance to win a Title as any at UK...

If/when Cal adds Bamba, Johnson, and Baker and/or Smith, the roster will be as stacked as any we have ever had. Only issue may be experience.....which is fine with me.

                                Starters of

                                Green
                                Diallo
                                Johnson
                                Washington
                                Bamba

                                Baker/Smith

                                My goodness gracious....
