In his first interview since committing to Kentucky, Ansley Almonor tells KSR, "I’ll go over there, work my a$$ off, and I’ll play. I’ll do what I have to do."

^ Really good quotes from that interview.

Refreshing compared to more recent years

We in for treat when this all gets up and rolling..
If Drew had accepted he would have brought Edgecombe, Roach and probably others who already played for him at Baylor—we’d feel we had a contender this coming season. But, honestly, this may be a more fun brand of ball in the long run.

Kind of feel like we are now a underdog team, Iike it..

Drew would've been great. I would've loved to have had him.

Pope is more...interesting? There's *way* more risk with Pope because he's literally never won an NCAA Tournament game, and he doesn't come here with the pedigree of being able to recruit Kentucky-level recruits. But (and I've said this more than once on this thread, I think) the reward is way higher than literally anybody else we could've gotten because if he can pull this off, it'll be so sweet.

Drew is pretty darn boring as a person. And he had no connection to this place. Pope checks both boxes and if he's able to nail it here, that'll make the success that much sweeter.

He could be as popular as Todd Svoboda in the near future 😁. Remember that fan favorite?

Per several people, Chaz Lanier will visit BYU (interesting) and then Kentucky. And also maybe Tennessee, but it wouldn't be ideal for them to get a final visit.

Although it’s sounding like only one of those guys. I guess there’s thought that Robinson might end up staying in the draft, and if he doesn’t Kansas might try to get involved.

Might not be able to handle the NIL asks for both. We gotta be almost tapped out at this point, I would think.

Being last or nearly last to commit as a top portal player would have to come with a hefty price tag. After Brea particularly I'd be surprised if Kentucky has the coffers to land both of them.

                          Lanier Robinson or Poplar??

Would not bother me if it's Poplar.

From what I have read on Lanier, he's a ball hog and average defender. Can score but if he's asking 1.8, not sure he is worth it in my opinion.

Robinson is the logical choice with ties to Pope but who knows at this point...

I saw Poplar's visit list three or four days ago and Kentucky wasn't on it.

This is from yesterday and said they’re are still looking at visiting Lexington so who knows.

Miami Hurricanes guard Wooga Poplar has entered the NBA Draft and the transfer portal. What are his top landing spots? Oregon and Villanova have the lead.

Lanier is at BYU this weekend, should be in Lexington to visit on Monday.
