Big day for Kentucky tomorrow. I feel like with Lanier we'd be pretty good. At that point we would have most of the pieces to have a very competitive team. I really hope he's not using BYU and Kentucky to up the ante at Tennessee.

All you need to know about Lanier is this:
106 three point makes, 44%. Insane.
Whoever gets that guy has their #1 guy in the offense, and that's virtually everywhere in America. There's a reason why Pope focused on him and is trying to drag him away from Tennessee. You don't go to such lengths at this stage in the game for a "ball hog."Comment

And by the same token, if you miss out on these three guys and somebody else (foreign player most likely) doesn't magically become available? Kentucky has a real hole in its roster with regards to a bucket-getting alpha type of guy.
Very, very difficult to win games against quality opponents if you don't have that sort of player. Lanier is the best available, and quite possibly the only one available at this stage.Comment

If we can land Lanier and add the 6'11 kid from Vanderbilt on campus today, i think this roster is complete...Comment

I'm not sure how this is going to work. 13 guys with 10 of them use to starting last year. Some guys are not going to be happy with playing time. Looks like 8 guys averaged over 20 minutes a game at BYU last year.Comment

Very difficult...which again is why what Pope (and some other coaches around the country, Louisville's being one of them) is having to do is going to be super tough. Not just in the assembling part of the team but also in getting them to gel.Comment

Technically speaking, we really don't need Lanier Poplar or Robinson, it's more of a security thing to land a proven scorer but we may already have that guy now just waiting to break out.
Still need another big body in my opinion for depth purposes...👍 1Comment

I don't expect to hear anything further until after the 29th, then I think the final roster will be filled up fast......Comment
