Board Draft

After being out on vacation for a week, today has been hectic so i apologize for not picking sooner. I had Maglore and McCarty on the board but in a way, i am glad they are taken because this makes my pick alot easier. I am taking Trey Lyles. I know from a stats point of view he was part of a great team with limited time and opportunities but if you look at him this year in the NBA summer lead, he's been killing it. He's 6'10/6'11 athletic and can do a little bit of everything, kind of reminds me of Walter McCarty but potentially a little bit better.
Bledsoe
Chapman
Booker
Lyles
Noel
I am ready to run and get up and down the floor ladies and gentleman.
With the utter decimation of my round 5 list, I'm going to need some time to think. I have three guys i need a second look at.Last edited by Spiritof96; 07-18-2016, 02:50 PM.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... I was extremely torn between him and Nazr. I have shooting with Lamb, scoring with Mash, and a 4 who can stretch it a little with Patterson. I needed more of a rim protector and rebounder which is why I went with Nazr. Like I said though it was a very tough call.Comment

I've always thought that a second year would have been huge for Lyles if he could've stayed healthy!Comment

Honestly, Lyles was last minute and made sense. With some of other guys off the board, it made it alot easier. I had him on my list but he wasn't my first option with this pick. I am actually glad others did me a favor because after thinking about it, his potential is off the charts. I didn't mean to snake you brother but with all of our one and dones and this whole draft being based on what players did while at UK, it makes it tougher to take some of the more recent guys knowing they really didn't have the chance to put up big consistent numbers. If a few of these one and dones had stayed 3 years and was a one two piece center of the team, who knows what we may be talking about now in regards to legendary players......Comment

As I mentioned I had to back to the drawing board as EVERYONE on my list was taken. I considered Estil and R. Morris... Mark Pope, even Winston Bennett (who compares favorably with Chuck Hayes) I don't like picking players I never saw play but I asked a former team mate of my pick who reassured me that I am making the right choice.
I select Jim Andrews. 6'11" 235. 70-73 (would have played as a freshmen if allowed) in 71-72 348 rebounds in 28 games while avg. 21.5 per game.
One of the most underrated UK bigs of all time. Even if you cut his numbers by half as some kind of era adjustment, looking at his per 40 min numbers... he is a beast. The player Trey Lyles might have become.
My team:
PG: Ulis
SG: Anderson
SF: Mercer
PF/C: Andrews
PF/C: WCS
We have exceptional scoring at 4 positions and elite rim protection and rebounding. As Cal is fond of saying, "I like my team!"Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Saw someone mention ice water in the veins. Or as Dakari would say '"nuts so big he can't sit down". Hard for me to imagine someone doing more for a team than this guy did in the 2014 tournament. I will take Aaron Harrison.
PG: John Wall
SG; Aaron Harrison
SF: Jack Givens
PF: Scott Padgett
C: Cotton NashLast edited by catfaninin; 07-18-2016, 05:33 PM.Comment

Aaron is a great 5th round steal because you're right...the guy stepped up big time in the tourney.Comment
