The accuser says that Pitino knew about everything.
In most cases you would have McGee just fall on the sword. But he's currently an assistant at the University of Missouri-Kansas City under former UofL assistant Kareem Richardson. (McGee has been placed on administrative leave.)
So I'm not sure a young assistant coach who's trying to make a name for himself will take the full brunt of this. Could be career suicide.Comment

It looks like Rozier himself, not his father, gave the quote that he would talk about it when the time was right.Comment

I just skimmed this thread so far, but two things stand out for me.
1) Kevin Hall wrote: "Sex for recruits, I'm afraid, goes on in a lot of places. This may have been more brazen than most but this does go on."
To one extent or another, this is certainly true. And, depending on how broadly you define "sex" (I sound like Bill Clinton now, huh?) it can be VERY true. UT had girls who allegedly "entertained" recruits and I actually used to work with a girl who was a "Spirit Girl" when Bear Bryant was at Alabama. Her job was to "entertain" recruits, and it was all open and above board. Even if nothing illegal or illicit took place, it is still using "Sex" to lure recruits. And, in fairness, I was told that even UK "recruiters" treated a high-profile QB recruit back in the Mumme days to a tour of some of Lexington's finest "gentlemen's clubs." (He still went to either LSU or FLA, so it was to no avail). The situation at UofL just seems far, far seedier than the norm.
2) Isn't paying for sex in college -- especially for an athlete -- kind of like paying for sports news on the internet? I mean, why?Last edited by SBCatMan; 10-05-2015, 01:50 PM.Comment

I doubt many colleges are hiring a madame and her court to provide the sex but I think it is being done in different ways. UL just took it a new level.
These recruits weren't paying for the sex. The sex was being provided for them. So there is a difference.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

As for Forde. I listened to part of a podcast with Wetzel and he lambasted Pitino and UL. Maybe they are having a lover's spat. Bob Valvano pretty much admitted that this was a lot of truth to it as well.
This is not going away nor should it. And I hope it burns all of them after the last several years of flaunting "win at any moral cost" at everyone else.Comment

I thought Matt handled himself very well today...did say he read the book
Seth said he believe Pitino will have to resign....with these allegations will be hard to recruitComment

UofL people have latched on to this bit of information, which shows that the publishing company for the book was created on the same day that the IU booster--Mickey Mauer--first traded e-mails about the photograph with people at UofL.
In his press conference, Jurich went right to the edge of saying that this was an IU smear job. How IU ended up with the photographs that started this I'm not sure, but it's definitely intriguing.Comment

If the scandle is indeed true--as it appears--Jurich and UofL probably should be more interested in cleaning house than pointing fingers at whoever blew the whistle. Maybe its sleazy for programs to report one another's violations but calling tattle tail instead of addressing your problems further shows your own priorities--winning at all costs, turning the blind eye and plausible deniability. There is apparently no "we'll get to the bottom of this and punish all involved." There is only "Andre McGee hasn't admitted any of it so we don't believe it" and "IU and Crean shouldn't be telling on us."Comment

Andy Sweeneyâ€@TheOnlySweeney 3m3 minutes ago Goodman on @ESPN680 says NCAA will go to former Louisville transfers and hang eligibility over their head. Don't think just Blakeney.

If any of this is true, and some of it probably is, why doesn't RP just walk away and leave the mess to work itself out? I doubt he needs the money.John 3:3

^ I agree with all of this, but if he knew about any of this, and he probably does, he could move out of town and not face questions every day.John 3:3
