Will be interesting to see how this plays out even if the book is true word for word. Pitino and Jurich could both be done OR does present day society really even care about a sex scandle anymore? If heroin and rape are not involved will it all just blow over? I'd like to think we haven't slipped that far but sometimes I wonder. Not the first time we've heard about sex being used to help recruit. Usually it's just cute "tour guides" rather than professionals paid for by someone in the program.

I think the program should get slammed and the prostitutes be prosecuted--at least the mom. Don't know what the statute of limitations is on prostitution but she's apparently provided the confession. Maybe she can be fined more than she makes in royalties from the book!

Matt Jones said on the football game KSR pregame show that he has heard from sources that the "you know what" will hit the fan in a couple days, maybe even Monday....

He said that there will be some new info/news etc that will end all doubt about whether or not this actually happened. I'm guessing proof/evidence will be shown by investigators or confessions will be made or something along those lines. But he said that any UofL fan that uses the excuse that his is just a total made up story and not true will no longer be able to make that claim....

I need to get me another XL bucket of popcorn lol.....

The coming information--if there is any--might have to do with Pitino, what he knew and when he knew it. He was adamant the other day that he was shocked by the whole thing.

I thought the way Jurich and Pitino handled Andre McGee in the press conference the other day was interesting. They almost couldn't believe he had anything to do with it. Likely they didn't want to anger McGee and have him start giving information about who at UofL knew about what he was doing.

Here's Eric Crawford on the book:

          http://www.wdrb.com/story/30179202/c...cardinal-rules

The madame allegedly became angry at UofL and decided to write the book because she was asked to start bringing white women to the parties.

And the quote in there from Terry Rozier is interesting. This is the father of the player Terry Rozier, and he says that he will talk when the time is right. That seems to suggest he knows something. (That information I think is in this article from the Boston Globe, which is behind a pay wall.)

It becomes all the more disgusting if we let these "escorts" profit from a book based on receiving unreported income from illegal activities. Certainly not excusing UL.......just expanding the net!

I also think that UL, Pitino & Jurich should get hammered but, IMO it will play out as follows:

              1. McGee takes the fall.
              2. Pitino & Jurich continue to deny knowledge.
              3. They'll be more discrete in the future; otherwise the beat goes on and it's business as usual for the UL Athletic Dept.

Two things I thought were telling:

                1. RP kept saying he was heartbroken, over and over. Never once did he say he was PO or mad or angry. I would have thought that if you had a month to think about this you have been pissed. I know I would have. Of course I would have been heartbroken but during that presser I would let it be know I was also angry! He also kept looking at the floor, as if all the fight had been beaten out of him or he knew the truth was about to come out.

                2. Terry Rozier's comments were interesting also. Why not just say no comment and be done.

Also, that woman will never be prosecuted to the fullest. If she has evidence that leads to some high ranking people at UL they will give her light sentence in return for her evidence. The publisher must have done an investigation before publishing this book. The legal ramifications if they didn't and the information in the book was wrong, that would be a huge lawsuit in the making for them. UL and anybody even mentioned in the book would be suing if there was no evidence.

Sex for recruits, I'm afraid, goes on in a lot of places. This may have been more brazen than most but this does go on. I'm sure someone with UL pissed off this madame and she decided to tell all. These "escorts" that service high profile people keep extensive journals and probably take pictures just in case they ever need to black mail them. I'm sure this is what happened here. This has the potential to really blow the lid off of, just not UL, but some more of seedy side of recruiting that goes on all over the country. It will be interesting to watch so get the popcorn ready.

The only odd thing is that she would keep a journal. That seems antiquated and kind of convenient. It could be that it's a common practice of escorts for safety reasons. Or it could also be that she knew she would write a book about this stuff one day down the road.

The early pages mention Rodney Purvis, who now plays for UCONN, by name.

I read the free sample on the subway this morning. It basically just lays the groundwork for the book. It did say Purvis wasn't involved in the end. I did read the background for Dick Cady, the author. He is a well respected journalist who has won tons of rewards for reporting including a Pulitizer. I doubt he would have done this book without vetting the information he was given. The book itself is only 104 pages and it's $9.99. I won't be buying it at that price unless it comes down 99 cents on Amazon.

Not sure. As I said the article's behind a wall. The only thing I've seen is that Rozier's father says that he will give a quote in due time, which means he knows something about it.

Drew Deener this morning says that people would have known if those women were in the dorm and that there must be an ulterior motive for this. He says that everybody he knows would be shocked if Andre McGee had anything to do with it because McGee is known as being "cheap."

Depends on how old the men were. If they were under 21 and the woman consented, then it isn't statutory rape.

If you are any kind of parent, worth your salt, why in God's name would you EVER allow your child to play for that program after hearing this??

I worry a little about any recruit that visited this den of iniquity and then came to UK.
