I guess I'm not understanding portal rules. If it's "closed" now, what happens to players that haven't committed anywhere year? Or does that mean the deadline to enter the portal has now past and just players still in the portal can still sign with new teams, but more can't enter?

I think it's just that no more can enter.

Indeed. I explained to my wife that its like posting your resume out on Linkedin and see who bites. No downside to enter the portal. Coaches' agents are always listening if a school contacts them.

Just one more word on Williams. I've been reading articles that state many coaches are re-recruiting their transfers. Apparently this is not unusual.

It's sort of like college football has always been with high schoolers. I'd assume everybody is just being recruited all the time, all throughout the season, by everybody.

Everytime I hear that term or hear the phrase “entered the portal”, I can feel my stress hormone levels rise a bit. It’s such a joke.

I've seen that Lanier might be a Tennessee lean. Would be a heck of a piece if Pope can find a way to get him.
