The old we will see and time will tell still holds. Love to have Osobar and Brea, but over the years I've felt the same about a lot of guys....and sometimes when we got the guys I thought were the missing piece, that's the way they ended up....missing.

This young guy we got was I believe a McDonalds AA. He isn't exactly chopped liver...and he has a year behind him.

The issue with losing out on Osobor is that he's one guy we were looking at who has take-over-the-game talent. There simply aren't that many of those available in the portal unless they magically become that type of player after a summer of work. (Which does happen occasionally.)

Most of what we have so far, in fact all of it, is basically role players. Good role players.

Osobor, Robinson, a couple of others look to be a different caliber of player. When you start missing out on all those guys and your roster is made up of role guys...well, you're gonna have a hard time against certain types of teams.

Pope and his staff have done a great job but they haven't gotten a big fish yet.

Just putting Goodman to the side and discounting him...it is weird timing. You gotta admit.

Not saying it means anything necessarily. Just weird.

However, the most interesting thing about the Garrison commitment? It's something that John Calipari would've never done. Too many times over the last 5-7 years we've been caught flat-footed because we waited on somebody he really wanted, only to see the back-up to that guy go somewhere else and also the guy he really wanted go somewhere else. At the very least it looks like a bold move from the staff. Basically telling Osobor he's on the clock. You have to recruit like that or else you end up like we did so many times under Cal: unable to fill out a roster.

Any word on where Wagner and Theiro might end up

Wagner looks like he's down to USC or Arkansas. Not sure about Thiero. Haven't followed it as much since North Carolina visited last week. Assumed he would go there but since they visited Carolina's had a lot of movement on their roster. Believe they've added three players since Hubert Davis was in Lexington.

Wagner will probably end up at USC. From reports, his girlfriend is Ju Ju Watkins, USC women's player. Also rumors that Wagner was fed up with Calipari last year....

If indeed Osobor is off the board for Kentucky, I think we need to throw the house at Thiero and get him back,, Carr, Williams, Garrison and Thiero would make a good front line.
