There may be some initial cosmetic appeal, but the definition of "NBA big man" has changed so much from then to now that I'm not sure how much weight his pro career will carry.

Sure, definitely part of it. I realize each player that's 25yo and still playing D1 has different circumstances, but some of it is just sort of BS imo...and I think that was some of his point.

Cycling past the COVID year will help this some.

Actually Deivon Smith himself jumps on Twitter and says this isn't accurate.

The reporter (Matt Norlander) who posted that about Smith now says that he and Smith have been in contact about Smith calling out the erroneous tweet, and the clarification is that Louisville and Arkansas are also involved with Smith.

No mention of Kentucky, as expected with what we've added.

Pope needing to fly to Philly last night to convince Amari Williams to stay at Kentucky isn't abnormal, unfortunately. I've talked to some coaches this week who are "re-recruiting" their recently acquired transfers because of wandering eyes. Tampering season remains in effect.

I guess I'm not understanding portal rules. If it's "closed" now, what happens to players that haven't committed anywhere year? Or does that mean the deadline to enter the portal has now past and just players still in the portal can still sign with new teams, but more can't enter?
