Well Cal has had more NBA Fab 5 recruits that past 11 years more than anyone else and exactly how many Championships have we played for at this point?? Of course we would take it because we are bottom of the barrel desperate at this point but why feed the ego another 5 to 10 years on a broken system? At this point we don't need SWAGGY CAL, we need cool calm and collective Cal that players don't mind playing for without all the favoritism and committed to playing a so called highly recruited 5 star over a seasoned veteran with the same skill sets. I understand you take top notch talent when it's there for the taking but to constantly recruit over players who are just as good or better than the freshman coming in, no player loyalty in that and it shows..

Obviously UK can extend it again and again…..they can also stomach him for 2 or 3 more years and then pay the buyout.
Reminder to all the IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY fans, last 5 years we are out of the top 30 in wins and have some historic bad seasons breaking the wrong kind of records for Kentucky basketball. It's complete Doom and Gloom and we have like 7 players ready to go if it was start today, hope no one gets injured or fails to qualify academically, hard to believe you can't anyone who actually wants to play basketball for the University of Kentucky, it's complete madness and hard to believe...

And hope it all works out and Cal makes me look stupid with all this hate i have towards the stat of the Kentucky basketball program at this point, just figure it out and get done what you are paid to do..

Of course it's a knee jerk keyboard reaction hoping we lose this year but something has to give, it's time to actually start winning and becoming relevant again, it's been to long enough is enough ,time is now....

In defense of Coach Calipari and all the good he's done, he can't go out like this right?

In regards to Rondo being on the staff, rumor is Celtics may be offering him a role as a assistant coach, we shall see.

            .
He’s actually eligible to step down after the 2024 season. The buyout is 75% of his remaining contract or about 30 million at this time.

He’s said pretty clearly that barring something unforeseen such a health issue that he won’t be taking the assistant to the AD offer. Who knows how true that is or if totally losing his ability to win in today’s environment would count as a good reason to do it, but I basically took that as a comment that if we wanted him gone so bad he’d have to get his money.

Oh, I think you misunderstood me. I’m not saying the program is in good shape, Cal needs to leave. I’m simply saying there is a misunderstanding that he’ll be here for another 20 years if he wants. Could the program get worse over the next 2-3 years? Yes, of course it could. But if it did, rest assured Cal would be gone/bought out.

So, while I’m not saying ‘it’s going to be okay’, I am saying ‘it’s going to be ok: either Cal will turn it around (highly doubtful), or he will be gone in the next 2-3 years’.

So, the Hart kid from Indiana may have “silently” committed to UK, and Jordan Burks, OTE’s leading scorer at 27ppg, has decommitted from Ole Miss and will visit UK this week.

Not excited about the Hart kid unless he’s just here for depth, but Burks is intriguing. Not highly rated out of HS, but he passes the eye test, and I don’t know how you can lead OTE in scoring and not be at least halfway decent.

Don’t think either addition solves all our problems, but they’re at least a start.

Soooo, Cal's "backup plan" includes a freshman out of California rated #167 nationally (Jordan Burks); and another freshman from Indiana
rated about the same (Joey Hart) .....
                  Oh My!

                      Got it, understood.

I was in old school 2005-2008 raw form Tubby Gillespie Tubby rampage mode yesterday.

Maybe somehow we have a great season this year and patiently ride out this storm until it's over, maybe Cal figuses it out..

Saw somebody say on Twitter that the fact UK leaked the news about the two players on a Saturday night tells you all you need to know about Kentucky basketball right now.

Guy put up some absurd games with OTE. Not sure why he was so lightly recruited but there has to be a reason.

Saw where we’d reached out to a PG who could bring some much needed depth and practice value to the team. He’s a little undersized and still shoots his freethrows underhand…but we need some players and the report is that he’d be a great locker room presence. Here’s a photo from his recruiting profile:
