Obviously one or a combination of Nelson Kaluma even Nakauma would solidify the roster, would love to see Nelson and Nakauma, don't think 6'7 Kaluma solves our problem but at this point take what you can get....

Kaluma's a power forward, which is what we need IMO. Livingston role.

We have two seven footers. I'd rather have power and/or skill than another center.

Grant Nelson would be sweet but I'm not sure what he gives to the team when you look at how he plays. We already have a player like him. We need grit and toughness (and hopefully some skill to go along with). This is why I thought Johnson would be a perfect add.

He's scheduled to meet with Cal today.

I'm guessing we'll know something concrete soon.

I'm not sure if it's enough ready-made talent to be what we want to be, but it's a roster.
This is about the best we can hope for.

Would he still be on a scholarship while finishing his course work or is he on his own? He could also apply for a wavier to play without being a graduate transfer. What are other’s thoughts concerning this situation?
I'm ok with him getting his degree from UK. If he tells Cal he won't be back next season, I don't think the school should pay for it.

Well if Kaluma can play like PJ or M. Harrell even Chane Behannen, i am cool with that ,

Any foreign players worth mentioning eligible for D1 basketball this year, need a diamond in the rough........

We won't be getting the Nkhamhoua guy from Tennessee who's been mentioned several times on this thread. Per college basketball guys it'll be Baylor or West Virginia for him.

Per Tucker a few minutes ago on twitter.

Still don't know what Reeves will do. Have heard Kentucky and Kaluma are definitely talking. Have heard there's at least been feelers out on Somto's willing/ableness to come to college now vs. a year from now.

Crazy a program like Kentucky has to beg plead scramble just to field a roster this late in the off-season.Like I said if you can't field a team and get enough on scholarship, has to be a breach of contract right?

I don't think so. No one is being forced to go to another school or the NBA. This is just a perfect mess created by a lot of dominoes falling. Kids everywhere want to play and the portal gives them that chance. (when you primarily run a 7 man rotation that happens and players really don't want to wait their turn for next season). Some, not all these guys come from backgrounds where they are the hope of a lot of folks to grab a golden ticket. A very few likely should have and would have made the jump to the NBA right out of high school except for the coincidence of their birth date.

The rules are so twisted you can't really hold a coach accountable for graduation rates.

Let's be real honest.....if lightning strikes and the Cats somehow were to break into the final four this year we would forget all this in a day.

It may take a lightening strike just to get us into the tourney. Look how long we sweated it out last year, and that was with what was probably a far better — or at least more proven — roster.

Cal was complaining about older players in college basketball here pretty recently. It's obvious why he's had so much problem using the portal this off-season.

The roster was more proven but some of those proven players were problematic. Our most consistent player last year was a freshman.
