Another weird thing I think about sometimes: how much better Andrew Harrison got his sophomore year and the fact that Aaron Harrison got worse.

Yes, that is my point. Moreover the issue is a decline in our ability to identify prospects now versus the first half or 2/3 or this era. In the beginning we hardly ever missed whereas now we do at times.

The litany of considerations is large. It is hard to argue that UK is no longer the "IT" school where people hold a strong degree of admiration and respect. The program used to sale itself.

Definitely more than three. Is Cal supposed to just say to some of these guys no? CBB isn't what it was even 10 yrs ago. Rosters are fluid. People need to get used to it.

Yes that is my point, college basketball is different than it was 10 years ago and Cal has not kept up. You’re glossing over the crux of the issue that Cal can’t keep players who don’t immediately excel in the program.

Another year another new roster, wash rinse ,repeat, but hey Cal’s Going to change, he’s going to adjust. Every time I hear that I just laugh. I just hope the guy retires before he manages to kill UK basketball completely. Yeah I know many of you don’t want to hear that but I personally know at least a dozen once rabid U.K. fans that have lost all interest. Ask the fans you know and see what they tell you. The reason this is happening all over the state rests on the shoulders of Cal and this miserable soul crushing culture he has created, so yes he is hurting U.K. basketball.

If we’re filling out our roster every year through the transfer portal then we’re in trouble and are playing with fire the same ways we have been. That’s not a coherent strategy.

To be fair, Stevens is 0 for 2 in title games, too.

It's just very clear that both times Mark Few has had a team in the title game, he's run up against a much better team. I don't think the lesson here is that Few can't win the big one, it's that Gonzaga just doesn't have as many great players.

I don't know if I agree with this. It depends on those transfers and how good they are. If you recall, Texas Tech also made the title game a couple years ago and they had a bunch of transfers.

Also next year is going to be way different. There are going to be so many players out there available. In most years you'll have four, maybe five big-time transfers. This year there are going to maybe be triple digits.

I really think somebody will build a championship team out of the transfer market.
