Saw an interesting article on Sea of Blue. It's a summary of an article in the Lex HL of an interview with Rick Allen. Allen runs a service that advises athletes on the specifics of eligibility, including things like transfer waivers. Here is Rick Allen conclusion regarding a waiver for Sarr: “But based on the information that’s out there, I wouldn’t be optimistic,”

I just don’t think you want to go into a program rebuilding project by giving other coaches a tool to bludgeon you with on the recruiting trail. Blocking a kid from transferring who has no interest in playing for you out of spite wouldn’t be a good look.

Well, Sarr is going to have to get his waiver the old fashioned way.

Would it be cynical of me to say that UK getting Sarr didn't help the measure get approved?

Cal had better go out and find someone else just in case....

I think he may have run out of places to find someone else.

That is a problem especially if the fate of our season hangs in the hands of the NCAA, i don't see them doing us any favors at all...

I am taking the glass is half full approach. I Believe Cal and Sarr felt very confident that a waiver would be granted. I have not heard anything from Cal to change my mind 🤞

I feel the same way and I hope we're right.

That's kinda the only thing to hang your hat on now. Best I can read the quidelines there is little change Sarr will be granted a waiver. On the other hand I don't understand why either Green or Baker were granted a waiver. I see not reason why their request were granted. However, surely Cal know what was in their waiver request. So if they were given a waiver why not Sarr?

Big man Moussa Cisse will reclassify to the 2020 class. He is considering Kentucky.

He's the 8th rated player according to his ranking in the class of 2021. Would be a fairly tremendous fallback option if Sarr didn't get the waiver but it's hard for me to believe Kentucky gets him with Sarr in the fold. He'd know that he would be the back-up if Sarr got eligible, and that's a very tough sell for UK.

Don’t know anything about Cisse game but can he play the four? Tell him how much better he will become going against Sarr in practice everyday? I agree a tough sell but Sarr has to rest and always the foul trouble situation. Don’t know when Cisse has to commit but If he is considering UK, I bet he waits until the Sarr eligibility decision is announced.

Cisse is going to LSU. If Sarr wasn't at UK we would have had a chance.

Given the possibility of the NCAA coming down on LSU he might have second thoughts.
