Sarr has a quote going around on Twitter that he was testing the waters, Manning talked him into coming back to Wake Forest, then Manning was fired. I imagine that will be his hardship pitch to the NCAA.

If it's Williams and Williams is eligible (and healthy), Kentucky will be #1 in America and the prohibitive favorite.

In my opinion with all the pressure on the NCAA with the G League/G League Pathway NBA options now which really put a flame under the NCAA to look at "players being paid for name and likeness" earlier than they originally "claimed" they were going to look at it, I won't be surprised if they rule this month that players can transfer once (there are some players that move around couple times) during 4 year eligibility.

          This is a good point.

However, the NCAA as we all know doesn't do the sane thing most of the time. So you never know.

But it definitely behooves the NCAA now more than ever to have its marquee players out there playing for its marquee programs.

This guy might not even play at UK at all.

Sarr has too many credits remaining to graduate before transferring, but he's hoping to receive a waiver to play immediately. While the NCAA's one-time transfer waiver looks unlikely to go into effect next season, history shows that Manning's late departure and Sarr acquiescing to Wake Forest's delay requests could help him get one anyway. If he's unable to get a waiver and play right away, Sarr has no interest in sitting out next season.

"I don't know," Sarr said. "I could go pro, play one year in the EuroLeague, somewhere to get ready for the NBA. There's no way I sit out."

That's why I'm confident that Cal has a plan and wouldn't have taken him unless he felt good about Sarr playing for UK next season. There's no way we know all this and Cal doesn't.

Kentucky and Sarr will lean into the Manning issue, and that, coupled with the NCAA's desperate need for an immediate image rehab, might just be enough to get Sarr's waiver approved. The NCAA needs as exciting and star-studded a product as possible right now; denying Sarr's request runs counter to what they need to do to beat the G-League. If Sarr gets denied and goes pro, the NCAA takes another L to its newest competition.

Great news. This guy is talented. Good footwork. Good passer out of the post. Good looking stroke. HUGE get by Cal. I'm pumped.

Judging by Sarr’s story, he has a good case. Wake Forest essentially talked him out of putting his name in the draft and then fired the coach.

There’s also talk the NCAA may just green light all the ‘reasonable’ transfer requests. Then there’s the G-league/NBA rule mentioned above by 85 Fly.

So it seems there’s a fairly strong case to be made and it’s reasonable to think Sarr will get to play. The NCAA doesn’t always do the just thing, though.

Articles say it came down to Wake or UK but he did consider Duke. That likely would've been the safe route. ZERO chance he would've been denied a waiver to play there.

                      Sad but true.

                        Coach Cal on Sarr:

“I am excited to coach Olivier,” UK head coach John Calipari said in a release. “Olivier is a great kid and a terrific player on the rise who knows he’s going to have to come in and lead. He gives us a veteran, established player who has not only played on a big stage and played well, he wants this next challenge.

“When we first talked to Olivier, my first thought wasn’t on what he does for this team, it was why he wanted to be here. I coached Danny and know his relationship with his players, so when Danny talked about what a great kid he is, we said, ‘Let’s do this.’

“Oliver was one of the best players in the ACC last season and got better and better – as he’s done his whole career – as the year went on. By the end of the season, he was one of the top five players in the league. I’m ecstatic he wanted to be a part of this program and what we have going forward.”

This sounds like there's no doubt in Cal's mind that he plays next season. Get it done Sandy.

Spoken like a man who thoroughly expects him to play immediately.

I sure hope so. I won't be surprised if a #FreeOlivier movement starts, albeit the fanbase is not in the same shape as it was in 2010.

I think youd be surprised at just how good of shape the fanbase is in.
