I have no problem at all with David Padgett and know nothing about interim AD Tyra. But if the rumors are true about a total reboot--maybe even firing Petrino after the season (which I doubt--more likely he leaves for another offer) then will Padgett and Tyra even be kept with their Pitino and Jurich ties or will everyone be brought from outside the program?Comment

Padgett was involved in some of this crap. Surprised they hired him to coach..It will surface eventually.Comment

I feel the same way really. The piling-on at this point feels a little cruel to me.
That said, it didn't matter if he knew or not. He would've survived this if not for the stripper thing. You can't keep going back to the "I wasn't aware of what my assistants were doing" well.Comment

You cannot be on probation.....actually appealing a disciplinary action....and have one of your employees violate rules while that is going on.
That, among other things, brought both Pitino and Jurich down. Pitino had to have known that second major on top of Powellgate was it.
contrary to pitinos statements, Louisville did not 'rush to judgement.
The University has MAJOR financial problems to address. I believe Mr.Grissom was quoted as saying very early on in the BOT meeting that we have many other things to address.
this is simply a case of an athletic department being given far, far, far too much autonomy. They actually believed they were equal to and apart from the University. In short, a pro team that just happened to have "Louisville" as the team name.Comment

I think this is the case for most power 5 programs that are even slightly successful. Including UK. Practically speaking, they are separate business entities.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them...he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.Originally posted by Robert “Hoot†GibsonNo matter how bad things may seem, you can always make them worse.Comment

I seriously doubt Barnhart has the latitude Jurich had. The President of UK has a say in what goes on, and I bet UL will have the same setup when this all shakes out.John 3:3

Barnhart has a hudge amount of autonomy in his job. Not total lack of oversite like UL, but still, not really that connected to the university.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that...
