That’s what I was getting at in my post above. If the guy is truly guilty then he’s a fool for the things he is saying. I’m usually not the kind of person to think this way but I believe he’s telling the truth.

Well Tyra and his daughter are both UK grads

Padgett was involved in some of this crap. Surprised they hired him to coach..It will surface eventually.

That said, it didn't matter if he knew or not. He would've survived this if not for the stripper thing. You can't keep going back to the "I wasn't aware of what my assistants were doing" well.
If he is indeed Coach 2, there's no way he would've survived this.

What was it he said earlier? It doesn't matter if I am coach 2.
You cannot be on probation.....actually appealing a disciplinary action....and have one of your employees violate rules while that is going on.
That, among other things, brought both Pitino and Jurich down. Pitino had to have known that second major on top of Powellgate was it.
contrary to pitinos statements, Louisville did not 'rush to judgement.
The University has MAJOR financial problems to address. I believe Mr.Grissom was quoted as saying very early on in the BOT meeting that we have many other things to address.

this is simply a case of an athletic department being given far, far, far too much autonomy. They actually believed they were equal to and apart from the University. In short, a pro team that just happened to have "Louisville" as the team name.

I wonder if it wasn't a have to case. Everyone else settled in to start the season, and with all the publicity, what established coach would jump at this?

I think this is the case for most power 5 programs that are even slightly successful. Including UK. Practically speaking, they are separate business entities.

I seriously doubt Barnhart has the latitude Jurich had. The President of UK has a say in what goes on, and I bet UL will have the same setup when this all shakes out.

Barnhart has a hudge amount of autonomy in his job. Not total lack of oversite like UL, but still, not really that connected to the university.

I really don't think that's the case. If I remember correctly, UK's President got highly involved it the attempt by Lexington's mayor to have UK pay for the renovation of Rupp that included a major upgrade to the mall area too. I don't think Ramsay was involved at all in Jurich's kidnapping the Louisville taxpayers when the Yum was built.

If this person is such a fan or cares about the University, why would he put them further in the hole? You do what it takes to help them out of this mess. Right?
