FYI. Four-star combo guard Mark Smith, Gatorade Illinois Player of the Year, will announce his choice at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Edwardsville (Illinois) High. He reportedly will choose between MSU, Illinois, Ohio State, Missouri, Kentucky and Duke. MSU and Illinois are reportedly the heavy front runners. Go Cats!

^^^ Baker is alright...he plays HS ball for Roosevelt (Corona CA), their legeau is Ok. Worried about him at the college level, specifically UK level and all that entails...

Cam Johnson will visit Ohio St. on Monday then Arizona next weekend. Evan Daniels believes it is between Arizona and Kentucky. Same thing I hear. If Diallo returns, Johnson will likely go to Arizona.

Matt Jones got exposed by how this has played out. Kept trying to say all week that he wouldn't be surprised if Johnson committed on visit or this weekend. Not true. Johnson has always planned to make visits and not make any decision until his school year is over. He has always planned to announce at that time, at the end of May.

Cal never likes to purposely overload the roster. He has always wanted 6-8 main players. With Diallo and Johnson on the roster you would have an overload at the 2 and 3 spots. Now, if Diallo wants to return after going through the process, Cal will welcome him back because he sees that as the right decision for Diallo given the strong possibility of significantly helping his stock. He said on his podcast with Stephen A. Smith this week that he may lose 9 players. That 9th would be Diallo....

Said it would likely be Thursday, maybe Friday depending on logistics. We'll see. I think it will be more towards the end of May myself.

Does it really matter where elite players go to school in regards to their NBA future? The reason I ask is Ben Simmons from LSU was still drafted number 1 and we all know what kind of coach and program he had to deal with.
