The Xavier Henry saga was wild. There were rumors that he wanted out of his commitment to Kansas that I still believe to this day.

There's very little mystery in most of these things. I would say 80% of the time there's some kind of leak or indication of where the player is going to go, and things proceed like they should.

The Knox situation was unusual because they played it so close to the vest. It was different even than Jamal Murray; at one point early in that thing UK was a pretty heavy favorite for Murray. Knox could have gone to any of those schools. There was just no smoke at all. One of the only times I've ever seen it happen like that.

Yeah, Cousins committed to UK almost immediately after Cal took the job. Then Eric Bledsoe committed and say, "We 'bout to get **** right!" That's when I knew this whole thing was going to be fun.

For a second there, it even looked like Xavier Henry was coming to Kentucky, too. Might've been your shooter that put the team over the top.

I agree, Henry would've put them over the top.

Guess my guy didn't have good info from his recruiting expert friend lol....

I would think now Bamba will wait until at least until the May 24 Draft pullout date....he has always said he wants to see the roster makeups of all the teams he's considering. Most think it's UK or Texas, but I still believe it's UK, he just wants to be sure.

The longer he takes before announcing, the better for UK. He doesn't need to track what happens at Texas as a result of the draft pullout date. He wouldn't lose minutes at Texas regardless. He's waiting to see how the UK roster shakes out.

I don't see how he's worried about losing minutes at UK at this point. The only players who are still up in the air are perimeter players. Wouldn't have any effect on him.

They've all signed with the exception of Knox.

The only one who Bamba would have a direct influence on is Richards, and Richards has known for months that Kentucky is recruiting Bamba.

I would imagine he'll be a one-and-done only because he apparently has uncanny athleticism for a guy his size. He recorded a sort of insane vertical leap at the McDonald's game.

Seven footer who can jump like that with that length usually don't stay in college long. But playing- and production-wise, he's going to be raw. I've seen him four times I think and every time I've been more worried about what we'll look like if he has to be the starter.

^^^ I'm with you about Richards he's raw. I wasn't impressed the few times I've watched him play he didn't jump off my screen but you can't teach 7feet.

For people that are paying attention, here's why you should be confident we get Bamba and/or Johnson....

Cal himself said (as noted in Will's post) on May 11: "We're not done yet"....

That's all you need to know.

That almost certainly means we either get Bamba or Johnson. Maybe both.

Cal is likely talking about Bamba IMO. He doesn't put out those hints to fans unless he is certain. He's done it before.

Cal may or may not be talking about Johnson also IMO. If Diallo stays in we likely get Johnson.
