Guy made an interesting point on Twitter.

He said that if you woulda told him 15 years ago that Cal would still be coaching and Coach K, Roy Williams, Jay Wright, Billy Donovan and a couple of others are out of the game they'd assume Cal would be out there killing it. The fact that he's not is really shocking.

And the fact that he's not is really suggestive of a coach who allowed the game to pass him up. That you've got "young" coaches out there succeeding while older coaches have retired en masse the last two or three years is very telling about where the game is right now.

Given everything that's gone on in society the past 5 years or so, i would say young players want Coaches they feel they can relate too more now than ever. Let's be honest, nobody wants to listen to a loud mouth who kicks screams and yells all the time making 10 million a year high on the pedestal who absolutely cannot relate to the youth. The only selling point is IT'S KENTUCKY and i have put 50 players in the NBA draft but the reality is with the exception of a very few, most of these kids was getting drafted by someone no matter where they went to college based on the high 4 and 5 star rankings and future potential , why not play for someone who's been where you have been??

Calipari came in initially and sold the dream, he had boosters in his corner on the streets like Lebron (Throwing up the Y) Jay Z Drake etc , he was marketing and painting the picture it was cool to play for Kentucky and get to the NBA as soon as possible. For years it worked, even NBA teams bought in to this, if it was Kentucky and Cal it's worth the pick. Once the the new wore off and more and more ex players started speaking negatively behind closed doors, the game finally figured Calipari out, was good while it lasted.

As for the X's and O's part of all this, of course it's a issue for us Kentucky fans trying to win games but in regards to landing recruits, that really isn't the problem anyways, most of the top players and recruits will be NBA bound playing for another coach in another system a year from now, Kentucky just a holding ground until draft eligible...

With all that being said and in a perfect world, i would love for Cal to take one last ride figure it out and bring his A game, will gladly eat crow if he does. Overall throughout his career, Cal has been too good to actually go out like this, would bet his inner ego is driving him mad at this point, he's always had his way at Kentucky now he doesn't.....

Just saw on MSN that Hart has committed. Three star. From Linton Indiana. Sorry, but I'm not buzzing with excitement.

Ha ha ha, you all fell for the ‘he has committed’ and ‘he has a locker’ tricks. Next you’ll be saying ‘he’s in warm up’s’. Suckers.

I'm just kidding, really, re: Sharpe. I hope he’s excited to play for UK and can give meaningful minutes.

He sounds excited. As for meaningful minutes, I don't know about that.

I feel like Kentucky Basketball as we knew it, and CBB in general has been petering out since 2015-19... Hope I'm wrong. I just think the times are changing

Silver lining, we have a team program coach even players disrespected this off season by media social media etc. We may get a ticked off group of players with a chip on it's shoulder ready to prove every one wrong, we shall see, still need a big...

So, Bob Huggins was pulled over for DUI on Friday the 16th, and it's sounding like he's done at WVU.

Could we try to get in play for any of their roster? I'd assume a bunch of them will leave now.

Jesse Edwards was the first name to pop up, and I’d take him yesterday.

So have I. But I don’t doubt the program will return to excellence.
