May regret saying this but in reality, i don't want Reeves back. Just let this young group start fresh from day 1 and develop, no need to have a 5 6 7 year Senior crying on the bench or in the locker room for not getting enough touches or minutes...

And no amount of money(NIL) can get her a date.

If Reeves indeed leaves Kentucky would have to rewrite a lot of rule books about the way you're supposed to build college basketball teams next season if they're a contender.

Actually even with Reeves that's the case. Without him we'll be ludicrously young.

I've always been of the opinion that youth isn't a big deal in college basketball, if the talent is there.

We've had exceptionally old teams the last two years and we have sucked.

But Cal seems to he doubling down on the youth thing. Whether that is due to necessity or proving haters wrong (or a little of both) is irrelevant. Next year could rewrite the book or it could be the final grenade that blows up the Calipari era at Kentucky, and I think he would agree with that assessment.

We have a group of ALPHA's coming in who who have potential to be one and done 1st round picks. Probably won't win a Championship but Reeves would be on the bottom of Calipari's list in my opinion, no need for the drama...

Seems like you need a mix.

I do think there's something to be said about how old we've been the last couple of years. I don't think Cal really had a definite "plan" this offseason, per se; you could tell that by the way he got bamboozled by both Dickinson and Oscar.

But I do think Cal really hates dealing with older players and is much more comfortable trying to mold high school stars.

Problem is we're really not sure if these three guys we're going to land this weekend/early next week are stars or if they're not going to be ready at all. Mysterious, low-ranked players who pop up on the radar very late in recruiting seasons usually don't pan out.

We have incoming players who think they’re alphas, but grown-ups across the country are gonna make betas out of them by Christmas.

We’re toast, friends. But we’ll probably have juuuust enough success to convince Cal things are still okay, in which case he’ll refuse to step down after yet another tournament failure, and we’ll continue to plummet into Indiana territory.

I don't trust recruiting evaluations on Overtime Elite guys.

For one, the gameplay is less organized and recruiting evaluators have less access. Rob Dillingham might be one of the best players in this class, and his final ranking was absurdly low.

The more semi-pro leagues pop up, the more obsolete (and less reliable) recruiting rankings will become.

We aren't plummeting into Indiana territory. Indiana took a slow, twenty year slide into irrelevance, and when they had a chance to reset, they stuck with a Knight disciple, which continued the slide for another decade.

If we keep on this track for another five years, I'd say we are more UConn after Calhoun or Syracuse at the end of Boeheim. Neither is ideal, But Indiana is a rare case study in fumbling the bag for decades.

He may be a great player, but the poor little guy doesn’t even weigh 160. At that size, it’s tough to see him operating the way he’d like to at the college level.

I dunno. Mediocrity is mediocrity, and both are pretty darn mediocre right now.

I do believe we’re in a better position to extract ourselves from that bog, though.

Well, for one they don't play enough games to give anybody a great evaluation.

The only people to trust with those guys are the people they allowed into workouts and so on. Watching OTE games wouldn't tell you a lot. There's just not enough there.

Speculation that Reeves is indeed leaving.

I assume that's why Burks pushed his announcement back to Monday. Looks like Kentucky's trying to package the "good news" after the last of last year's players leaves.

Tucker’s now in on the rumors. Reeves is gone.

All the posts concerning our lack of players leads to how did UK arrive at this dilemma?? Probably no clear cut answer but ultimately it all starts and ends with the head coach.
